Inspired by a Sporting Rifle carried by Custer, a black powder enthusiast rebuilds his model. Remington's No. 1 Sporting Rifle was introduced around 1868. That was a rather quiet introduction and this sporter was not identified or named as such until 1874. The No. 1 Sporting Rifles were last shown in a Remington catalog in 1889 with a total production of under an estimated 13,000 rifles. Remington was simply concentrating a lot more on filling military orders from several countries, and making sporting rifles was secondary. When the Remington sporting rifles first appeared, they were made using military receivers which...

Film director Rob Reiner has claimed that President Donald Trump “commits crimes on a daily basis” and is planning to accept the help of Russia in order him “steal” next year’s presidential election. In one of his trademark Twitter rants, Reiner warned that America’s Founding Fathers had “never anticipated” a president like Donald Trump. “Our founding fathers never anticipated what we’re facing. A President who commits crimes on a daily basis,” the Princess Bride director said. “He was not held accountable for a foreign country helping him steal the last election. So he’s at it again. History will judge where...

As Tropical Storm Karen approached Puerto Rico this morning (or late last night), a 6.0 earthquake occurred Northwest of Puerto Rico along with a 5.1 quake. At the time of the quake(s), Tropical Storm Karen was South East of Puerto Rico. But there is one more important detail: The quake happened between a major fault line (shown in red above the earthquake if you go to the USGS link below...) and Puerto Rico. And the earthquake was much closer to the fault line than to Tropical Storm Karen. Link to USGS Map of Quake Map of most recent quakes (must...

A man holding his 5-year-old daughter jumped onto subway tracks in the Bronx during Monday's morning rush, killing himself but thankfully only leaving the child with minor injuries, police said. The man had the girl cradled in one arm when he jumped in front of the train as it rounded a curve and slowed at the Kingsbridge Road station just before 8 a.m., police said. The man, identified as Fernando Balbuena, was killed by the Manhattan-bound train — but the girl lived, getting trapped underneath. With the help of two strangers, the little girl crawled her way to safety. One...

Greta Thunberg is just a scared child, though after her users drop her she should be put on long term suicide watch. But there is a whole religion of 12 million people who have been deliberately inculcated in fearfulness from childhood. It seems it has been drilled into them that little Pope Francis is going to combine with the heads of the Protestant and Orthodox Churches--in reality, they hardly know they exist--and conduct a mass pogrom of beheading because this group won't stop a certain benign religious practice.

A top Democratic official in Alabama has said that one of his party's U.S. senators in the state "is a racist" and accused him of marginalizing black party members and wanting them "to pick the cotton" but not "manage the plantation." The Democratic National Committee's Black Caucus Vice Chairman Randy Kelley, who is black, blasted Doug Jones, who is white, and his allies in the DNC for pressuring African Americans to increase the representation of Hispanic, Asian, youth, gay, and disabled party members in a new "Diversity Caucus," a move he argues would reduce the influence of black Democrats. Kelley...

Morning "For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him." Ezra 8:22 A convoy on many accounts would have been desirable for the pilgrim band, but a holy shame-facedness would not allow Ezra to seek one. He feared lest the heathen king should think his professions of faith in God...

Fresh calls for the impeachment of President Donald Trump will move a step closer on Tuesday as House Democrats head into a closed-door meeting with Speaker Nancy Pelosi at 4pm. Democrats themselves remained divided on moving forward with an effort to impeach Trump. Pelosi has resisted calls for impeachment and is sticking with her position that Congress must not start formal proceedings unless the American public demands it. However, Pelosi and her leadership team on the various oversight committees are considering bringing forward a resolution that will put the House on record on this matter, according to a Democratic leadership...

President Trump told his acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, to hold back almost $400 million in military aid for Ukraine at least a week before a phone call in which Trump is said to have pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate the son of former vice president Joe Biden, according to three senior administration officials. Officials at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) relayed Trump’s order to the State Department and the Pentagon during an interagency meeting in mid-July, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. They explained that the president...

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) told NBC News' Geoff Bennett on Monday that the Trump administration should make the whistleblower complaint that reportedly involves the president and Ukraine available to Congress, adding that it would be "very helpful to get [to] the bottom of the facts." The big picture: Romney continues to be the only Republican senator to condemn allegations that Trump pressured Ukraine's president to investigate Joe Biden, tweeting on Sunday that the reports are "troubling in the extreme."...........

“Jesus answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, “You must be born again”’” (John 3:5–7). Jesus answered Nicodemus’s objection by elaborating on the truth He introduced in verse 3: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” “Water” and “Spirit”...
