White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday defended the objectivity of Attorney General William Barr's probe into the origins of the two-year special counsel's investigation of Russian election interference. She claimed that President Donald Trump will let Barr do his job, in spite of statements appearing to indicate that the president had already reached some conclusions on the matter. Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday, Sanders was asked by host Chuck Todd about what, exactly, Trump hopes to see as an end result of Barr's investigation into a number of FBI officials and members of the intelligence...

The Trump administration's Middle East peace plan is demonstrating a great deal of uncertainty because the plan is unfinished and raw. That explains why the White House always finds an opportunity to postpone its release. Although the administration could have made the plan's main ideas known a long time ago, it is not worth speculating on rumors about its content. So what should we pay attention to when the project eventually comes to life? We have to pay attention to the compliance of the proposed peace plan with established international law. The inability to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict for almost...

MOSCOW -- Konstantin Vyatkin has never acknowledged the Soviet collapse. "For the past 28 years I've tried to live in this country called Russia," he says. "But in my heart I still live there, in the Soviet Union." The words may sound banal in a country where two-thirds of the population professes nostalgia for the former empire, motivated by economic concerns and the absence of a welfare state. But Vyatkin does not simply miss the Soviet Union -- he actively denies its breakup, and claims to obey only its laws. And now a vibrant cottage industry is helping legitimize his...

It seems to me the SCOTUS could take the case--then decide whether they will keep or overturn Roe V Wade OR The option I think they will choose-- They could refuse the case --Which will allow Alabama and other the states to determine their own abortion laws -- Effectively the same result as overturning Roe. What do you think?

Sen. Lindsey Graham said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be committing “political suicide” if she tries to impeach President Trump. “Her job is very much at risk,” the South Carolina Republican told “Fox News Sunday.” “Nancy Pelosi is riding a bucking, wild bronco called the Democratic caucus.” He noted that 70 percent of the Democratic base backs beginning impeachment hearings against Trump. “She knows that impeachment would be political suicide because there’s no reason to impeach the president. So she’s trying to keep the party intact. If she goes down the impeachment road, Republicans take back the House, we keep...

Iran's Options and the Destructive Defiance by Amir Taheri May 26, 2019 at 4:00 am To start with, we must realize that the crisis in question isn't caused by any of the traditional causes of conflict between nation-states.... In other words, the conflict isn't a classical international one. The reason is that Iran no longer behaves as a nation-state but as a vehicle for an ideology. The madness that is Khomeinism has always had its method, which includes abject surrender when pressed too hard and brazen aggression when pressure is eased. Contrary to claims by the pro-mullah lobby in Washington,...

Iran's Plans to Kidnap and Kill More Americans by Majid Rafizadeh May 23, 2019 at 4:00 am A leading Republican lawmaker, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), also the ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has pointed out that recent intelligence obtained about Iran's threat was extremely detailed. These are simply preemptive measures that any rational state would take in the face of those clear threats. They were being taken to save the lives of American citizens and prevent the world's official leading state sponsor of terrorism from destabilizing the region. What do critics of the Trump administration expect the...
