Witness Allison Keller tells Hawaii News Now that the man appeared unconscious as rescuers brought him to shore Saturday.
Keller says the victim was missing his left leg from the knee down and skin was torn from his wrist.
Hawaiis Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement confirmed the mans age but did not release his name. Officials didnt say where in California he was from.

I used to LOVE shark, tuna and salmon steak on the BBQ at shore houses I had a million years ago.

You ever dive with sharks? I have, a lot and theres no finer animal on the planet. At least half the US population is probably better off being eaten by sharks. I know Id pay to see it.

I had an aunt whose spine was replaced with shark cartilage mixture. She’d have been crippled without it. Lived 20 yrs with a shark back - minus the fin!

Id never swim in a sea or ocean that didnt have armed lifeguards patrolling it in boats. To look our for and shoot these bastard sharks.
They had it when I was in Bali a year back.
And they can have all the welfare cheaters. Ninety eight percent of them look like they survive on Golden Corral where their three squares a day sort of blend into one continuous one. Share the wealth with the sharks. Think how much tax money us survivors will save.
