emocrats running for president in 2020 have already endorsed a long list of ambitious, controversial policies: The Green New Deal, Medicare-for-all, free college, the breakup of tech companies, and more. But one proposal belongs in a different category because it would seek to address the gravest injustice in American history. I'm talking about reparations for African-American descendants of slaves.

Critics of law enforcement are outraged by the second annual report of the California Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board, which found very few incidents of racial profiling by police across the state. The research effort is the first of its kind in the nation, mandated by a state law signed in 2015, at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement. That law established the racial profiling board and required it “to investigate and analyze state and local law enforcement agencies’ racial and identity profiling policies and practices across geographic areas in California” and to publish an annual report...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seemed to be hoping for a gotcha moment during questioning of Wells Fargo CEO Tim Sloan Tuesday during a House Financial Services Committee Hearing and instead ended up embarrassing herself. Sloan was brought before the panel by Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) as part of an inquiry into fraudulent misconduct by the bank’s employees in recent years. But rather than focus on issues such as the creation of fake accounts, AOC took an odd twist and accused Sloan of “financing the caging of children†and questioned his responsibility for “damages incurred by climate change.â€First, her focus on ICE: AOC:...

The Democratic Party’s cave-in last week to Rep. Ilhan Omar was dastardly, not just cowardly. Bad enough that Democrats were intimidated by Omar and her Palestinian enabler Linda Sarsour A lawyer’s truism advises: When your case is weak, pound away at your desk to boost your defense. The antisemite’s truism advises: When your case is weak, pound away at your gender or racial or ethnic grievances, to obscure your offenses. The Democratic Party’s cave-in last week to Rep. Ilhan Omar was dastardly, not just cowardly. Bad enough that Democrats were intimidated by Omar and her Palestinian enabler Linda Sarsour. Earlier...

Rest assured that immediately after the signing of an agreement, Hamas would launch rockets, incendiary balloons and thousands of demonstrators and terrorists against the fence. US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and numerous US officials have warned of the coming storm: The concessions required from both sides as part of the “deal of the century” will be painful. To cushion the pain and reduce resistance, US officials, such as Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt, offer Israel the bait of peace with Arab states as the reward for painful concessions on the Palestinian issue. The theme finds numerous supporters...

February's Hanoi summit was unquestionably a media bust. When North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un demanded reduced economic and political sanctions but refused to abandon his nuclear weapons, U.S. President Donald Trump shrugged and walked out. No sensational agreements; no bombastic threats. Sensationalist media had to scramble. For a week or so, snark artists called the summit a diplomatic disaster. When the historical and technological contexts that shape this phase of the Korean War are considered -- and this is a phase of the Korean War -- hasty damnation is, at best, an exaggeration. Start with a calendar, then do...

AOC falsely claims pro-Jeb Bush super PAC behind ethics complaints against her, doubles down with another false claim U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried this week to delegitimize ethics complaints lodged against her by falsely linking watchdog groups to a totally separate Republican super PAC that received a record fine from the FEC over foreign money. Seemingly frustrated with the ethics complaints that allege off-the-books operations and misuse of congressional resources, the rookie Democratic congresswoman from New York went on Twitter to incorrectly link watchdog groups to Right to Rise, a pro-Jeb Bush super PAC that was hit with a $390,000...

You have the power to determine how history will judge us. From one Jew to another. From one parent/grandparent to another. From one who utters “Never Again!” to another. From one witnessing the vile anti-Semitic floats in Belgian parades to another. From one in horror watching the U.K. descend into 100 monthly anti-Semitic incidents to another. And from one seeing, in disbelief, the rise of anti-Semitism in the U.S. to another. We may not agree on much else, but this outrage we have in common. You are the resounding 72-74% majority of the 5.4 Million American Jewry who have backed...

President Trump on Wednesday blasted California Gov. Gavin Newsom for halting executions for the state’s 737 death row inmates. “Defying voters, the Governor of California will halt all death penalty executions of 737 stone cold killers. Friends and families of the always forgotten VICTIMS are not thrilled, and neither am I!” Trump tweeted early Wednesday. The tweet comes hours before Newsom, a Democrat, is expected to sign an executive order that would halt all executions at San Quentin State Prison, closing a new execution chamber. The order would also withdraw lethal injection regulations. The order, though, would leave all convictions...

The Pew Research Center has produced a projected profile of what the American electorate will look like ethnically in the 2020 elections. The portrait shows a continued trend of America becoming an increasingly nonwhite nation and electorate. Pew projects that 66.7 percent of eligible voters in 2020 will be white. In the presidential election in 2016, 71 percent of voters were white. In 2000, 76.4 percent of eligible voters were white, 10 points more than Pew projects for 2020. When President Reagan was elected in 1980, 88 percent of the electorate was white. A number of factors are driving the...

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich, defended her colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar from backlash within their own party regarding the Minnesota representative's controversial remarks deemed by some to be anti-Semitic. Omar suggested on Twitter that pro-Israel politicians are bought by groups like AIPAC and that those who support Israel have an "allegiance to a foreign country." Her remarks sparked much condemnation, including several of her Democratic colleagues. In a preview clip of an interview on Showtime’s "The Circus," Tlaib suggested that "Islamophobia" within their party could be behind the swift condemnation for the comments. "You know, I'm trying to figure it out....

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tried to grill Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan during a House Financial Services Committee Hearing on Tuesday and ended up getting embarrassed. The hearing, held by Democrat Chairwoman Maxine Waters, was titled, "Holding Megabanks Accountable: An Examination of Wells Fargo’s Pattern of Consumer Abuses." The Los Angeles Times reported: "Sloan was the first megabank chief executive whom Waters, an outspoken critic of Wells Fargo, summoned to appear before the House Financial Services Committee since she took over as its chairwoman in January following the midterm elections that gave Democrats control of the House." Ocasio-Cortez...

BOSTON — During a guest lecture at Boston University on Monday, University of Washington Professor Robin DiAngelo told the audience a “dangerous white person” sees people as individuals rather than by skin color. DiAngelo, whose main field of work is “whiteness studies,” added that those who say they were taught to treat everyone the same deny black people of their reality, she said. (snip) DiAngelo’s comments were couched during a section of her talk titled “What Does It Mean To Be White” that discussed colorblindness and those who say “I was taught to treat everyone the same, or some version...

Not if POTUS makes it easier for Gulf states to move toward Israel. Soon after the April 9 elections, the White House is expected to unveil US President Donald Trump’s long-anticipated plan to advance peace in the Middle East. Critics aren’t waiting to read the actual text. They’ve already declared the effort doomed from the start. Yet such cynicism could very well prove wildly off the mark. Senior US officials are quietly meeting with Arab, Jewish and Evangelical leaders to prepare them for the spring rollout. Earlier this month, Jared Kushner – the plan’s chief architect – traveled with White...

The father of the World Wide Web is right: It's time to take back "complete control of your data." Tim Berners-Lee, who conceived the first internet browser 30 years ago this week, warned of its increasing threats to "privacy, security and fundamental rights." To mark the anniversary, he argued that demanding transparency is key to stopping the web's "downward plunge to a dysfunctional future." So, where to start? Berners-Lee specifically cautioned against the dangers of internet browsers' keeping "track of everything you buy." The world's top browser is Google Chrome. But spying on our purchases is the least we have...

These crazy guys built a homemade cannon using some weird scraps. Such as a frame of a Ford Model T and the suspension of a John Deere 7700, Scott Welker of Leg Arms made this real functional cannon. The video, posted on Welker Farms Inc Youtube, shows these folks shooting at a number of different targets, including the side of a building, an old sedan, a preowned Ford Escape and some random junk. They mix up the projectiles, too, as they start with a whole size turkey before moving on to an actual cannonball. Watching the turkey against the building...
