The Treasury Department will auction $84 billion in notes and bonds next week in its quarterly refunding auctions, keeping the same size as in its prior offerings, the government said Wednesday. With Congress facing a March 1 deadline to raise the debt limit, Treasury said that it can use certain “extraordinary measures” to continue to finance the government on a temporary basis.
