President Trump’s headline-grabbing communications director Anthony Scaramucci has been shown the door, after just 11 days on the job. The surprise decision was announced Monday afternoon as retired Gen. John Kelly took control of the White House staff, apparently moving quickly to impose order on a West Wing gripped for weeks by infighting and public trash-talk. "Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director," the White House said in a terse written statement. "Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told his troops to get back to business, rather than take their traditional August recess. Call it the President Donald Trump Effect. Call it the Voter Effect. Whatever it’s called, fact is: Outrage over failed Obamacare repeal has forced the Senate’s hands. Due to unyielding pressure from the president, combined with massive outrage from the conservatives of the nation — conservatives who elected Republicans to lead all the major power corridors on Capitol Hill — McConnell cut off the first two weeks of his Senate’s normal summer holiday. Sen. Lindsey Graham is supposed to be...

In their quest to narrow the nation’s 41,000 Chinese restaurants to the top 50, the folks at CNN Travel interviewed chefs, restaurant associations and food writers — and downed plenty of noodles, stir-fries and dumplings themselves. As they note, to be successful, a restaurant must “cater to the American palate, but still be authentic enough to be considered a reputable Chinese joint.” California dominated the list with 12 honorees — more than any other state. The list included Chef Chu’s in Los Altos, Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in San Mateo, three San Francisco restaurants and a Southern California location...

Question: "Are apparitions of Mary, such as Lady Fatima, true messages from God?" Answer: In Catholic tradition, there are many reported occurrences of Mary, angels, and/or saints appearing and delivering a message from God. It is likely that, at least in some of these cases, the people were genuinely seeing something supernatural. While some of what is seen in various places is perhaps the work of charlatans, other apparitions were apparently authentic. However, an apparition being authentic does not mean it is a message from God or a genuine appearance of Mary, an angel, or a saint. Scripture declares that...

RUSH: Exclusive, right on time, as night follows day, we can always count on a push poll like this. From Reuters: “Exclusive: Majority of Americans Want Congress to Move on From Healthcare Reform.” Of course they do! So here comes the failure by the Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare. Fat repeal, skinny repeal, straight repeal, repeal and replace, replace but don’t repeal, whatever it is, up in flames, up in smoke, and wouldn’t you know, Reuters has gone out and surveyed people in New York and Boston and LA, wherever, and found people that think Congress should move on....

(VIDEO-AT-LINK) Throughout the 2016 election season, the wifi-hating Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, functioned mostly as a novelty, until she captured over one million votes, and we’ll never know what effect she had in swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin, although it was possibly significant. So, Stein’s resurfacing in an MSNBC interview run served as a reminder that she might have tipped the balance in some states — which is even more of a head shaker because she completely trashed the U.S. for what she called the “demonization” of Kim Jong-un’s regime in the interest of taking over: “The demonization...

Remember two and a half years ago when students at a small Pennsylvania college demanded the name “Lynch” be removed from a campus building … because of its racial connotations? An Oregon school district is following their example. The Centennial School District in southeast Portland will be excising “Lynch” from three schools before the beginning of this school year: Lynch Meadows, Lynch Wood, and Lynch View elementary schools. The schools were named for the family which originally had donated land for the schools over a century ago, but Superintendent Paul Coakley says “many newer families coming into the district associate...

It’s official: Atheists now occupy a lower place than Muslims in the “progressive stack,” meaning that in the Sacred Church of Equality, Muslims are now considered holier than atheists. If you doubt my assertion, riddle me this: When was the last time you heard a Muslim accused of “infidelophobia”? Superstar atheist Richard Dawkins recently had an upcoming radio appearance canceled by a listener-funded radio station in Berkeley, CA, a city whose primary purpose these days is to ban things considered sinful to progressives. In justifying their ritualistic shunning of Dawkins, KPFA 94.1 FM in Berkeley cited “hurtful” comments from Dawkins...

WalMart is carrying a jacket specifically designed for concealed carry. Clothing designed for concealed carry has been available commercially for decades. But most of the shops marketing it were specialty oriented. WalMart may have seen the latest CPRC report. It shows the presence of 16.2 million concealed carry permit holders in the United States. The 16.2 million does not include the populations of the 14 states that do not require a permit to carry concealed pistols. Second Amendment supporters are winning the culture war. From WalMart.com: Rothco's Lightweight Concealed Carry Jacket has 2 inner pockets for concealed carry, one...

(full article title: Fun for the whole family! Chelsea Clinton beams in a bright orange baseball hat as she takes children Charlotte and Aidan to Lego store) As her mother made her long-awaited return to the spotlight by announcing her new book, Chelsea Clinton spent the weekend shying away from official business. Instead, the mother-of-two indulged her young children with a visit to a Manhattan Lego store on Saturday. Chelsea, 37, dressed down for the outing in jeans, a white and blue blouse and some well-worn nude wedges. She went make-up free and added a bright orange baseball hat to...

Salem, Ore.-Taxpayer-funded pension systems are combustible by nature, but Oregon's ticking time bomb known as PERS is on the brink of exploding. Among the impending disaster's collateral damage, Republicans say, will be public workers and kids if so-called "progressive" Democrats are allowed to dodge the hard work of diffusing the PERS bomb. Under Oregon's one-party-rule taxpayers are now on the hook for an estimated $52,100,000,000 in taxpayer-held pension debt. Simply put, to avoid getting smacked with an Illinois-like credit rating of near "junk" status, late last Friday the PERS Board adjusted the taxpayer funded-pension system's (PERS) assumed investment earnings rate,...

For the first 300,000 years after the Big Bang the rapidly expanding universe was dark and filled with neutral hydrogen gas doing nothing much. But over the next half billion years the first stars and galaxies arrive through a process known as re-ionization – turning the lights on in the universe. Using an amazing Dark Energy Camera which is part of the -meter Blanco Telescope, at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO), in northern Chile, scientists have captured a picture of 23 of these young galaxies – the very dawn of visual time. Arizona State University astronomers Sangeeta Malhotra and James...

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore says Americans still support President Trump despite issues with his administration because Democrats haven’t offered them an alternative. Speaking on "Morning Joe" on Monday, Moore slammed Democrats for not “running the right people” in local elections and the upcoming 2018 midterms. “The Democrats have yet to offer what the alternative is,” Moore said. “Like, ‘we’re going to take the House back’ — and really? Where are all of those great candidates for next year?” The filmmaker, whose one-man show about Trump is in previews on Broadway, said that the U.S. is in line with the liberal...

This is a story which began ramping up back in March. Liberal activists in a number of states were complaining that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was making arrests of illegal aliens in the vicinity of courthouses when they would show up for hearings. (The fact that the same thing happened on an as needed basis while Barack Obama was president didn’t appear to cross their minds.) For their part, ICE argued that illegal aliens frequently have no listed permanent address or place of employment, and if local law enforcement wasn’t going to assist them in their duties, a court...

A mother who no longer liked her child's middle name has won the right to have it removed in a legal challenge costing thousands of pounds in legal aid. In the new case the mother, who cannot be named, objected to the child's middle name because it was the same as an infamous public figure which she said gave it negative connotations and would therefore harm the child. But the father wants to keep the name arguing it is an essential part of the child's identity. So the mother took the case to the family court where she was granted...
