Tykables, the only brick and mortar storefront in the United States dedicated to adult baby diaper lovers (ABDL), is located in Mount Prospect, a suburb of Chicago. Its customers, John-Michael Williams, the store’s owner says, include those ABDL who have a fetish or sexual interest in dressing like or pretending to be a baby; people who have a medical need for adult diapers and enjoy the brand’s options; and individuals, some of whom are on the autism spectrum, who find the diapers and child-style clothing provide a sense of comfort and stress relief. To be clear, those in the ABDL...

Just days after receiving brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor, Sen. John McCain (R-Az) returned to the senate in time to cast his vote killing the so-called "skinny" repeal of Obamacare. McCain joined fellow Republicans Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine) to vote with all 48 Democrats for a 51-49 margin against the bill. The Senator cited "bipartisanship" as his primary motivation. "The original Obamacare legislation was enacted without a single Republican vote,: he pointed out. "For us to repeal any part of it without a single Democratic vote would only continue to spur rancor between the aisles...

President Rodrigo Duterte is waging a bloody war on drugs in the Philippines. Last year, Duterte published a list of more than 150 government officials he accused of having ties to the drug trade. Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., and his daughter, Vice Mayor Nova Echaves, were on that list. Now Parojinog and his wife are dead, and Echaves is under arrest. The classic communist parties had their “organic intellectuals.” But Pope Francis has them, too. Their names are Antonio Spadaro, Marcelo Figueroa, Víctor Manuel Fernández. The first is an Italian and a Jesuit, director of “La Civiltà Cattolica.” The others are Argentine, and the latter is not even Catholic but a Presbyterian pastor, and in spite of this Francis has put him at the head of the Buenos Aires edition of “L'Osservatore Romano.”Spadaro has turned “La Civiltà Cattolica” into the organ of Casa Santa Marta, meaning of the pope. And together with Figueroa he put his name to an article in the...

Joseph Tobin Pumping iron and welcoming “gay couples” to his cathedralA Bergoglian cardinal for the new Gay ChurchIntroductionAs I have noted on these pages more than once, the essential novelty of the Bergoglian pontificate, even in the midst of the turbulent sea of novelty that is the post-conciliar epoch, is its carefully planned and relentlessly executed assault on the Sixth Commandment under the guise of “accompanying and “integrating” public sinners involved in “second marriages” and other “irregular unions” through a vague process of “discernment” of their “concrete situations.” In other words, a form of situation ethics in matters sexual....

The US says it has carried out a successful test of its controversial anti-missile system and has flown B-1 bombers over the Korean peninsula. The exercises are a direct response to recent North Korean missile tests. A projectile fired by the US Air Force was intercepted over the Pacific by a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (Thaad) unit in Alaska. US B-1 bombers also conducted exercises over the Korean peninsula with South Korean and Japanese planes. On Friday, North Korea test-fired a second intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) which it said proved that the entire US was within striking range. The...

Two news items this week show us once again what the establishment media and almost all political authorities in the free world are determined to deny: jihad terrorism really is all about Islam. The first was in Australia, from which the Daily Mail Australia reported Saturday that “about 40 heavily-armed police stormed a Surry Hills home at 4pm before raiding properties in Lakemba, Punchbowl and Wiley Park in Sydney’s west. An Islamist cell is accused of planning to bring down a domestic flight with an ‘explosive device’ discovered at the Cleveland Street home.” Neighbors of the four Muslims who...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Sunday again dismissed assertions that she should resign her long-held leadership post, saying "I am a master legislator." Pelosi, who has been the House’s top Democrat since 2007, has faced repeated suggestion that she step down since 2010, when Republicans took control of the chamber in a wave election. "Self-promotion is a terrible thing, but somebody has to do it," the California lawmaker told Fox News Sunday. "I am a master legislator. I know the budget to the nth degree ... I feel very confident about the support I have in my caucus."

If you plan to livestream next month’s solar eclipse from one of the prime viewing spots... “We’re expecting a good experience but there will be times at peak where the network will struggle,” said Paula Doublin, assistant vice president for construction and engineering for AT&T, the nation’s second-largest provider. Some communities are hosting eclipse-watch gatherings that are expected to draw tens of thousands of people. The 6,700 residents of Madras, Oregon, will be far outnumbered by visitors, and Verizon, AT&T and Sprint all plan to bring portable towers for its event. AT&T will deploy eight portable cell towers across the...

Warren's women staffers earned 71 cents for each dollar earned by men in 2016 Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) spoke out on the issue of gender pay equality in a speech on Thursday without noting the equal pay shortcomings in her own senate office, where women earned a fraction of what was earned by men in 2016. In an address to liberal activists of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Warren said that she is continually reminded on Capitol Hill that she needs to push equal pay. "Boy, do they keep reminding me about this on Capitol Hill the need to...

Ships are huge and loud, yet they seem to take whales by surprise. When eight endangered North Atlantic right whales turned up dead in the ocean off Nova Scotia this past June, scientists scrambled to find out why. Early data shows several of the whales had blunt force trauma consistent with a ship strike, with data still pending on others. Ship strikes are a major cause of injury or death for whales. But why do they happen at all? The ocean is vast, and huge ships don’t exactly travel at freeway speeds—there should be enough noise, movement, and warning for...

The AI was trained in English but apparently had grown fed up with the various nuances and inconsistencies. Rather than continue down that path, it developed a system of code words to make communication more efficient. What spooked the researchers is that the phrases used by the AI seemed like gibberish and were unintelligible to them, but made perfect sense to AI agents. This allowed the AI agents to communicate with one another without the researchers knowing what information was being shared. ... AI technologies use a "reward" system in which they expect of a course of action to have...
