A child skeleton dating to 3,800-3,600 BC discovered in Nag Al-Qarmila, in Aswan, may be the oldest discovered case of scurvy in the world. Within the framework of the Aswan Kom Ombo Archaeological Project (AKAP), which is focused on pre-dynastic sites in the area of Nag Al-Qarmila in Aswan, a new and important discovery has been made. The AKAP Italian-Egyptian mission led by Maria Carmela Gatto from Yale University and Antonio Curci from Bologna University stumbled upon what is believed to be the oldest case of scurvy (vitamin C deficiency) in the world, dated to the era 3,800-3,600 BC. Minister...

...The prints number in the dozens and depict the movements of several adults and at least one child, as they tended to their neatly arranged crops and the small irrigation ditches that watered them. Discovered in November by archaeologists investigating a parcel of land near Interstate 10, the prints are likely the oldest human tracks yet found in the American Southwest... What's more, the footprints provide a glimpse into the daily life of people who practiced some of the earliest agriculture in the region, in intimate detail... The barefoot tracks are distinct enough that the movements of specific individuals can...

**SNIP** Together, Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have earned in excess of $125 million in speech income since leaving the White House in 2001, one-fifth of it in the last two years. Mrs. Clinton's own speechmaking was a veritable tour through high finance. She gave paid speeches at GTCR, the Chicago private equity firm that the Republican governor of Illinois, Bruce Rauner, helped found; Deutsche Bank, the German financial services conglomerate; and the investment bank Morgan Stanley, among other companies. Goldman Sachs alone paid Mrs. Clinton $675,000 for three speeches in three different states, a fact...

Friday was the 43rd annual March for Life, and drew hundreds of thousands of people from across the country to march through Washington, D.C. to protest abortion. Due to the massive blizzard that struck the city as the march drew to a close, hundreds of pilgrims (including National Review's Kathryn Lopez, who live-tweeted the experience) wound up stranded on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for nearly a full day as traffic was completely stopped by the storm. One group of pilgrims, however, did not let the intense conditions stop them from celebrating Mass on the side of the road, complete with an...

Gov. Kasich has a secret. He hides it well as he peddles his plain-spoken, real-deal, son-of-a-mailman sales pitch as a Republican presidential candidate in New Hampshire. The secret is secure with Kasich loyalists. Mr. Kasich is mum about the details, but a left-leaning blog with an emphasis on Ohio and national politics is on the right track. Plunderbund suggests "a scandal begging to be born" is bubbling in the governor's home state. Out-of-state media are oblivious to the disgrace at the Ohio Department of Education. Team Kasich has effectively kept the story under wraps on the campaign trail. [ ]...

Natalie Maines infamously spoke her mind about war and then-President George W. Bush back in 2003, when she told a London crowd that she was “ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.†Now, the Dixie Chicks member is bringing that comment back to mind and voicing her opinion on Republican presidential candidate (and fellow Texan) Ted Cruz.

On Thursday, Fox News will be hosting the final GOP presidential debate just days removed from the Iowa Caucus. A growing din of whispers surrounding the impending debate has at least one member of the moderating panel specifically targeting Donald Trump’s demise. It appears the Trump campaign has already initiated counter measures as Mr. Trump himself called for Fox personality and upcoming debate moderator, Megyn Kelly to be removed from the moderator panel. Trump and Kelly have engaged in an ongoing war of words since Kelly’s first stint at moderating during a GOP debate last fall that had her issuing...

Regrouping JANUARY 22, 2016 ~ CONSISTENTCONSERVATIVES This is an emergency means for us to keep in touch with our FRiends, who are real Conservatives, in case of purging. Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate? My purpose is to figure out what to do to continue our discussions to advance Conservatism.

With liberal women expressing new concern over Bill Clinton's ugly history, the last thing Hillary Clinton needs is the return of Carlos Danger. Too bad: The new documentary "Weiner" is showing at the Sundance Film Festival today and hits theaters May 20. The film started as an effort to capture the successful comeback of the disgraced ex-congressman in his 2013 run for mayor. Documentarians Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg got inside access to the campaign - so the cameras were rolling when the news broke that Carlos hadn't stopped sexting after all.

NBC Meet the Press host Chuck Todd conducted a pretty soft interview with Hillary Clinton on Sunday, especially the way he let Mrs. Clinton get away with suggesting there is no e-mail scandal and “I cannot control what the Republicans leak,†as if the Inspector General of the intelligence community is some kind of Republican plant. Chuck Todd's Softball to Hillary on E-Mails: 'Are You Concerned?'Todd left it for the end of the interview, and only asked her if she was “concerned†– the softest possible way of putting it, not the Tim Russert way. Last week you were asked...

Over 500 Catholic school students from the Midwest, left the annual March for Life in DC early on Friday.  The reason for leaving was to get away from the impending blizzard, Winter Storm Jonas.  They didn't make it out in time, and got stranded on the Pennsylvania Turnpike West, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, for over 24 hours.  During that time they bore witness to their faith in amazing ways. Reports are that the students shared their food, their shelter (busses), and more with stranded travelers.  While their fellow travelers were inside warming up and finding nourishment, the students decided to...

We've all heard of oddball fishing techniques or crazy fishing stories, but this has to be one of the craziest. A fisherman uses a snake to his advantage in this fishing video. It’s hard to tell exactly what the fisherman was trying to accomplish. My guess is that he was fishing, caught a snake, and while the snake was hooked it bit a fish. What are the odds of that? The other option is the fisherman was using the snake intentionally, to prey on fish. That would certainly be an interesting technique. It appears he was fishing with some variation...

Pope Francis centered his Angelus address this Sunday on what it means to evangelize the poor, and how this is the mission of the Church. "Evangelize the poor: this is the mission of Jesus; this is also the mission of the Church, and of all the baptized in the Church," the Pope said Jan. 24 to the crowds in Saint Peter's Square. "To be a Christian and to be a missionary is the same thing." "What does it mean to evangelize the poor? It means to be close to them, to serve them, to free them from oppression, and all...
