Iran has removed the core of its heavy-water nuclear reactor in Arak and filled it with cement, the BBC reported on Monday, citing Iran’s semiofficial Fars news agency. The fate of the reactor was one of the sticking points in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the six world powers, which reached a deal in July of last year. Under the terms of the deal, Iran agreed the heavy-water reactor would be reconfigured so it was not capable of yielding material for a nuclear weapon. Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesperson for Iran's atomic energy agency, told the Etemad newspaper on Monday Iran...

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Some prominent conservative activists in Ohio are backing Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the Republican presidential race. The joint announcement Monday by three dozen people who've been involved in anti-abortion groups or other conservative causes comes after Friday's endorsement by the Ohio Republican Party of the state's governor, John Kasich (KAY'-sik). Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio followed Saturday with his own endorsement of Kasich, who's been trailing the front-runners in the crowded field....

President Obama's spokesman said Monday that White House officials are "wondering" if a gunman's attack on a Philadelphia police officer was an act of terrorism, and said the White House views the shooting as another reason for gun control. Whether the shooting of Officer Jesse Hartnett was an act of terrorism "is something we're all wondering right now," said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, adding that White House officials have been in contact with Philadelphia authorities. Alleged gunman Edward Archer, 30, told police he was motivated by the Islamic State to shoot the officer.

When something is free, but it’ll take a long time to get it, there’s always the chance that someone will try to take advantage of the situation to make a profit off impatient people. In Colorado, the attorney general’s office is investigating a scalping scheme that involves scammers hoarding driver’s license appointments with the Department of Motor Vehicles, then turning around and selling them to undocumented residents. Many undocumented residents want to get a driver’s license, but are experiencing a long wait to obtain one, more than two years after the IDs were made legal, reports CBS Denver. It’s a...

Donald Trump: I was part of the establishment. Let me explain. I was the establishment two months ago. I was like the fair haired boy. I was a giver, a big giver. Once I decided to run all of a sudden I’m sort of semi anti establishment. Now leading in all the polls, they are treating me very well. I’m mean I’m being treated very well.

The big question is, is Donald Trump anti-establishment or is he more likely to save the current system, than to challenge it. If our current crisis that concerns so many is a consequence of a deeply flawed centrally planned economic system, manipulated by the Federal Reserve, a foreign policy of occupation and preemptive war and a systematic attack on our civil liberties here at home, how will Trump be helpful in finding a solution? Is Donald Trump arguing for any significant change in policy or is he advocating only a different management style? What policy does he actually propose that...

Few people are not interested in legally reducing their taxes. By living in a foreign country and meeting some other criteria, you could exclude up to $108,000 of earned income from your 2015 U.S. tax return. That can certainly be an advantage of being an expat. The website Best Places In The World To Retire has collected more than 6,500 answers from expats to frequently asked questions about living abroad. These include cost of living, safety and healthcare. Several expats said that they were using the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion to reduce their tax liability to Uncle Sam, and that...

New polling data from Reuters finds a nationwide toss-up 2016 contest between GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton — but he’s beating her by 20 points, 46 percent to 26 percent, among white working-class voters. That’s up from a five-point lead in mid-December. Trump’s January lead is so huge, in fact, that Hillary just barely edges out the option “don’t know.†In fact, he is beating Hillary Clinton among all working-class voters, regardless of race. Trump leads Hillary by five points among all voters earning between $25,000 and $75,000. Just among whites, Trump gets the support of...

The Preterm abortion clinic in Cleveland, Ohio is getting some positive publicity this week after it placed pro-abortion billboards across the city. The billboards advertise the pro-abortion website MyAbortionMyLife.org and the words, “End the silence. End the shame.â€, a campaign to portray abortion in a positive light, Mashable reports. Nancy Starner, Preterm’s director of development and communications, said her abortion clinic wants to end the “stigma†of abortion by promoting women’s “diverse†abortion experiences – in other words, women’s abortion experiences that fit their pro-abortion agenda. “We wanted to move away from political black-and-white abstract issue,†Starner said, “and look...

The U.S. says it wants to help finance an oil pipeline in Africa. TransCanada took Uncle Sam to court last week to reclaim some of the damage done by the Obama Administration’s multiyear, drawn-out rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline. It may not come up in the litigation, but someone should point out that the same Obama Administration that rejected Keystone seems to have no problem supporting a new oil pipeline project in Africa. That was the story last week out of Kenya, where U.S. Ambassador Robert Godec told Kenya’s energy minister that Washington would help Nairobi raise $18 billion...

Last week, I broke the story at my website, Atlas Shrugs (PamelaGeller.com): Muslim mobs were sexually harassing scores of young women on New Years Eve in Cologne, Germany. The media refused to cover the story for days. That’s why you read Atlas Shrugs: to get the news the media won’t cover. Even ABC and NBC turned a blind eye to the New Year’s Eve story of Muslim savages who raped and robbed female passers-by outside Cologne's main train station while throwing explosives at New Year's Eve revelers. The scale of these mass Muslim attacks is only now beginning to be...

The American media’s heir apparent to the presidency, Princess Hillary Clinton, has had a hissy fit because that cad Donald Trump slipped a pea under her mattress. She’s all a flutter because he used a sexually oriented word that 99% of Americans have never heard of. Princess Hillary seems to believe that women should be protected from such language like they were in the 1950′s. Or,maybe she’s been so protected she doesn’t know some women use more well known words with a similar meaning. I’ve even heard teenage girls use such terms in church.

Restrooms for men and women may be on their way out in San Francisco. The new frontier: bathrooms for all genders. Businesses and city buildings in San Francisco would be required to make single-stall restrooms available to "all genders," under legislation to be introduced Tuesday by Supervisor David Campos. The measure requires businesses with single-stall restrooms to make clear that at least one is available to everyone on the gender spectrum, not just males and females. If a business has only multi-stall restrooms, it won't be required to change.

The last known survivor of the devastating San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906 died Monday. Bill Del Monte, who was 109 years old, passed away just after midnight at the San Rafael senior care facility where he lived, according to his family. He was 11 days shy of his 110th birthday. His niece, Janette Barroca of San Francisco, said he'd been doing "great for 109 years old." Del Monte was just three months old when the quake struck, forcing his family into the streets to escape in a horse-drawn buck board with fire burning on both sides, Barroca said....

U.S. shale oil production is expected to fall for a seventh month in a row in February, declining at about the same rate as the month before as drillers manage to eke out a few more barrels from each new well, U.S. data showed on Monday. Total output was set to decline by 116,000 bpd to 4.8 million bpd in February compared with January, a U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) drilling productivity report said. Production was estimated to have fallen by about the same margin in January, despite some expectations that the decline rate would begin to quicken as companies...
