Almost of half of Israelis polled have expressed support for making, May 9, Victory Day, the Soviet commemoration marking the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II, an Israeli holiday. Given the high number of Israelis of Russian and Ukrainian origin, the holiday is widely celebrated in Israel on an unofficial level though many Israelis are unaware “that the Jewish warriors’ contributions to the war efforts were a big part of the victory against Nazi Germany. There is a need for a call of action in order that this legacy will not be forgotten,” Victory Day Headquarters, an advocacy...

An accident on an oil well-maintenance platform killed two workers and injured 10 off Mexico’s coast on Tuesday, company officials reported, blaming the incident on the collapse of one of the rig’s legs. State oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, said the Troll Solution rig was maneuvering to perform offshore maintenance at the time of the accident in the Bay of Campeche, in the Gulf of Mexico. Pemex blamed a structural failure in the leg. The rig was “listing” but had not sunk, the company said via Twitter.

An Auburn woman calling herself an ambassador for God and his son, Jesus Christ, filed a federal lawsuit Friday against all homosexuals. Sylvia Driskell, 66, said in the suit that she is petitioning the U.S. District Court of Omaha to be heard "in the matter of homosexuality. Is homosexuality a sin, or not a sin?" In a seven-page letter framed as a lawsuit, she cited Bible passages that described homosexuality as an abomination and against nature, and she said never before has the nation or the state been "besiege(d) by sin." "Will all the judges of this nation judge God...

ThugThere is a split in America and it’s as wide as the Grand Canyon. We can look at what’s been going on in Baltimore and depending on what team we’re on, we see what we want to see. Liberals, black and white, see poor people who have had enough. It wasn’t a riot to some on the left. It was an “uprising,” the actual word used by a left wing professor on CNN. Conservatives, yes, mainly white, but more than a few blacks too, see dysfunction. They see crime and drugs and kids dropping out of school. What entrepreneur, they...

Controversial, intolerant and provocative. Mainstream media outlets broke out these three words to describe the “Draw the Prophet” contest, the American Freedom Defense Initiative and Pamela Geller.

HOUSTON – High-horsepower pumps and big hydraulic fracturing trucks, the primary tools used to bust open U.S. shale rock, have carved out parking spaces of their own at the Offshore Technology Conference. They’re an attraction for foreign onlookers interested in the technology that brought a rush of American oil to market. But more and more, they’re a jumping off point for oil producers looking to break open hard sandstone reservoirs found in deeper offshore fields, like at Chevron’s Jack/St. Malo project in the Gulf of Mexico. Offshore producers have fractured conventional wells for decades, but advances in the landlocked U.S....

Jeb Bush may be the most popular Republican presidential hopeful nationwide, but he trails his rivals badly in the critical state of Iowa, according to a new poll released Wednesday.... Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ted Cruz of Texas, Marco Rubio of Florida, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are tightly packed for second place, each earned between 13% and 11% support. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who unveiled his campaign on Monday, tallied 7% of the vote....

Explanation: Have you ever seen the Summer Triangle? The bright stars Vega, Deneb, and Altair form a large triangle on the sky that can be seen rising in the early northern early spring during the morning and rising in the northern fall during the evening. During summer months, the triangle can be found nearly overhead near midnight. Featured here, the Summer Triangle asterism was captured last month from Gunma, Japan. In the foreground, sporting a triangular shape of its own, is a flowering 500 year old cherry tree, standing about 15 meters tall. The triangular shape of the asterism is...

Breitbart News spoke with Pamela Geller, president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative and blogger at Atlasshrugs.com, about her recent “Draw Muhammad” free speech art exhibit, which came under attack by Islamic radicals on Sunday in Garland, Texas. Geller discussed how much of the political left, Islamic totalitarians, and even some high-profile conservatives have attempted to equate her art exhibit with the actions of the AK47-weilding Islamic terrorists, who were shot dead in their botched attempt to commit mass murder. Geller talked about why drawing Muhammad is so controversial within Islam and how the media is capitulating to Sharia law...

(snip) “On a personal basis, the first time I ever met anyone in our country working was when I was about 12 years old, as I recall,” she said. “Through my church, I was recruited, along with some other girls in Sunday school, to serve as babysitters on Saturday for the small children so the older children could join their parents in the fields. Because believe it or not, when I was growing up in the Chicago area, it was farm fields as far as the eye could see. The migrants, immigrant laborers would come up, up through the Midwest,...

Its getting pretty rough and intense on the eve of a hotly contested general election. The tactics of the big parties are squarely aimed at the smaller parties. In recent hours, Prime Minister David Cameron has made comments saying Wales and Scotland should have tax raising powers. A pitch to the nationalist parties there can be no doubt. The rise of the Scottish National Party has shocked many considering their loss in the independence referendum last year. It looks like the SNP will win 50 to 60 of Scotland's 71 seats in the House of Commons tomorrow. There have been...

1]A few years ago it was the Muslim Brotherhood. These days it’s Iran. Next week it may be ISIS or Al Qaeda. Obama stands with the worst elements in the Middle East. That’s always been his philosophy. If the left had a foreign policy, it would be, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.” But the wheel is a sword and it’s lubricated with blood. The squeakiest wheels and the bloodiest swords get the most grease from the State Department because they hate us the most. And hating us the most means that somewhere along the way we must have hurt...

When Smashing Pumpkins takes the stage this summer, part of the band’s mission will be to raise awareness of the plight of U.S. military veterans. For its “The End Times” tour, the band will work with the Easter Seals Dixon Center on a joint venture called “New Beginnings: Reaching America’s Vets.” Frontman Billy Corgan doesn’t see it as a partisan issue; rather, he thinks the alt rockers can help some veterans and their families that simply fall through the cracks.

The emails of Huma Abedin, the top personal aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, are now facing a disclosure lawsuit after the State Department failed to turn them over in response to an open-records request. Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest law firm that uses open-records laws to pry information loose, had filed a request to get a look at Ms. Abedin’s emails during her four years at the State Department. News outlets have reported that Ms. Abedin also used the private email server Mrs. Clinton set up to handle government business, but the status of her...

Below are the video and transcript to Robert Spencer’s speech at the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest, sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative and held in Garland, Texas. Robert Spencer: Geert Wilders mentioned that the PEN Writers Association that was founded in order to defend the freedom of expression is giving an award to the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists — Pamela spoke about this as well — and that 145 of the members of PEN, including some very prominent writers — Joyce Carol Oates, who you may’ve heard of, and some others — have pulled out. Because they say that...

In the muddle of insurgency, assassinations, false flags, and military confusion, the right-wing Pravy Sektor’s Dmitry Yarosh is a key player. The recent high-profile murders in Kiev of opposition politician Oleh Kalashnikov and, the next day, of Ukrainian writer Oles Buzyna have made the scene in an already complicated and fractious Ukraine murkier than ever. Both Kalashnikov and Buzyan were overtly and, for many in Kiev and western Ukraine, disgracefully pro-Russian. Both were active in the “Anti-Maidan” movement of last year opposing the pro-Western change of power.
