Well! They want money from everywhere else, constantly holding out their hands for that which they didn't lift a finger to earn. Consider the fat tax, sugar taxes, tobacco taxes, the global warming sin tax(cap and trade) and on and on. All kinds of taxes that are based solely on trying to "help" you make better decisions by dissuading you economically from certain other choices. I don't think anybody could ever argue that what one man does to another man's body is healthy. Therefore, if it's unhealthy, will it be taxed? Will there be a gay tax?

Just announced on Fox. Obama was expected to announce whether he was going to accept the request of his top commanders, and some Republicans in Congress, and send more troops to Afghanistan. Instead, according to Fox, he has announced that he "can't make that decision without more information." The translation is clear. The Left is raising hell over us even being in Afghanistan and simply will tolerate nothing other than our surrender in Afghanistan. So Obama is waiting until he can gin-up some "information" that will allow him to deny the request for additional troops.

It's always sad when the son of someone famous gets tangled up with the law. But even if sad, it is one ting that newspapers love because it gives them something salacious to excite their readers. Naturally, the first paragraph nearly always includes the name of the troubled scion as well as the name of his famous father or mother, especially if they are politicians. But the Kansas City Star recently bucked this top-of-the-story outing of the parents of a troublemaker with the Sept. 11 tale of a young man that tangled with the Kansas City Police Chief at a...

Report: Rules of engagement led to soldiers’ deaths By Michelle Malkin • September 16, 2009 11:01 AM Dear God (hat tip – Lynn S): NATO-led forces are investigating the death of four Marines in eastern Afghanistan after their commanders reportedly rejected requests for artillery fire in a battle with insurgents, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.Tuesday’s incident was “under investigation” and details remained unclear, press secretary Geoff Morrell told a news conference.A McClatchy newspapers’ journalist who witnessed the battle reported that a team of Marine trainers made repeated appeals for air and artillery support after being pinned down by insurgents in the village...

This is the breaking news mentioned last night in Investigating Obama and The Awakening. Below is a post by Larry Sinclair, from his blog, "...on all things Obama," about what he indicates he was asked by Dr. Taitz, to do. Affidavit to be Filed with Federal Court in Santa Ana Today: I have tried to stay neutral in the cases of Orly Taitz and have even tolerated the attacks from her and her supporters. I will no longer. Orly Taitz needs to be held accountable and responsible for her actions and her actions need to be made public. I tried...

Recent videos posted online and aired repeatedly on Fox News Channel that seem to show ACORN workers allegedly advising two 20-somethings dressed up as a pimp and prostitute on how to skirt the law, the community group has taken some major hits as of late. On Friday the Census Bureau severed its relationship with the group for the 2010 census. On Monday the Senate overwhelmingly voted to deny Housing and Urban Development funds to the group. And congressional Republicans in general have been asking the federal government to terminate relationships with the group and investigate various allegations of malfeasance. ACORN...

This is a pretty stunning admission, but now even the left-wing Associated Press is admitting that if Obamacare gets passed there will be a major doctor shortage that won't soon be resolved because of the crush of new patients. The AP posted a piece Sunday that warns that Obamacare will make worse the national shortage of primary care physicians using experience of RomneyCare in Massachusetts as a cautionary example. As Massachusetts' experience shows, extending health care to 50 million uninsured Americans will only further stress the system and could force many of those newly insured back into costly emergency rooms...

Backing up his anchorman, Charles Gibson, who suggested on the radio that maybe the ACORN story "is just one you leave to the cables," World News executive Jon Banner extended the liberal snobbery on Politico: While Banner admits that some stories may get more attention on cable, blogs or talk radio, it doesn’t mean they’re suited for the "World News" audience. "There’s a tremendous amount of – for lack of a better word – ‘noise’ out there. We’re not in the business of noise."

Pakistan's female fighter pilots break down barriers September 14, 2009 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Six years ago an ad in the Sunday paper changed a young Pakistani woman's life and made aviation history. The ad read: "Pakistan Air Force recruiting females cadets." Back then Ambreen Gul was 20-years old and living in Karachi. Her mother wanted her to be a doctor. She remembers her reaction when she told her she wants to fly. "She was like: 'You're a girl,'" says Gul. "How will you do it? How will you fly?" The following day Gul took the first step in proving...

Why has there been a massive outbreak of tea party protests under this administration; is it because of Obama's healthcare plan? The massive tea party protests across the nation are a new phenomenon, emerging largely under this President. Although some like to compare Obama to our last Democrat President Bill Clinton due to his charisma and sharing a Democrat-controlled Congress, Obama is no Bill Clinton. Obama comes from the far left wing of politics. He was labeled the most liberal member of the Senate in 2007 by the National Journal, and has actively aligned himself with the most radical elements...

September 16, 2009 PERMALINK Congressman Boehner filmed the following video discussing his new legislation – the Defund ACORN Act (H.R. 3571) – which is designed to cut off all taxpayer funding to ACORN. Watch Boehner here:Click to View Boehner Video An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader staff determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994 – not counting all they’ve received indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants. That’s why Boehner and his colleagues have also sent a letter to President...

Question for FReeper gearheads: I have a beloved '97 Mustang V6 automatic. The speedo and tach work just fine, but both odometers have simultaneously ceased to advance. I am used to British Leyland/ Morris Garage vehicles wherein a cable ran from the transmission case to the back of said devices. None exist on the Mustang, just an electrical connection/wiring to a 'speed sensor' on the housing. What do you think has failed? Please apply Ockham's razor. Has the speed sensor likely failed, or is this a ghastly remove the dash and replace the speedo/tach assembly? Many thanks for your advice.

A new Investor’s Business Daily poll of more than 1,300 physicians finds that nearly two-thirds (65%) don’t back ObamaCare, more than 70% say the government cannot provide insurance coverage for 47 million additional people and save money without harming quality, and 45% of doctors say they “would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement” if the liberal health care plan passes. Earlier this week, as the front-page story in today’s Investor’s Business Daily noted, the Los Angeles Times ran a front-page story touting the American Medical Association (AMA)’s backing of President Obama’s health care plans, while a National...
