I posted this about a month ago, but it is still relevant because Obama keeps on making this lie by including it in is speech last night. In his speech last night, in other recent speeches and in his editorial in the New York Times he wrote about a month ago, he has continued to mention the sad case of an Illinois man who lost his health coverage during life saving chemotherapy and consequently died because he did not disclose a previous condition of gallstones. Quoting his editorial in the New York Times, “A man lost his health coverage in...

LITTLETON, Colorado (BNO NEWS) -- Former Republican U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo says Rep. Joe Wilson should not apologize for "telling the truth" when he shouted "you lie" to President Obama during his address to Congress on Wednesday. Wilson received fierce criticism for his outburst in Congress, which was aired live around the world. Wilson immediately apologized to President Obama, which he accepted. "Joe is right, Obama is a liar," Tancredo said in a statement on Thursday afternoon. "Republicans attempted to attach language to the Democrat health care bill in committee that would have required the government to verify the legal...

But it's unclear whether Obama intends to work tort reform into the bill at all. He treated his entry into the issue Wednesday night as an executive-level regulatory change, directing Sebelius to immediately work toward starting the pilot programs in individual states.

Beleaguered Students, Bankrupt Pensions by: Sarah Carlsruh, September 10, 2009 This week’s Bloggers Briefing, usually a conservative affair, addressed the interests of two typically liberal groups: college students and union workers. Campusreform.org is an up-and-coming website that combines the social networking of Facebook with the informative powers of Ratemyprofessors. In the midst of overwhelmingly liberal college campuses, this site is a haven for conservative students. It gives them the opportunity to meet ideologically like-minded students, plan conservative events, and even blow the whistle on overly liberal college professors. Students, alumni, friends, and community members are welcome to join their campus’...

In 1916 a church asked the Salt Lake City Council to allow them to build a huge cross, "the symbol of Christianity," on Ensign Peak. "We would like to construct it of cement, re-enforced with steel, of sufficient dimensions that it can be readily seen from every part of the city," the request read. That request came from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The cross was to honor the Mormon pioneers. Even though the proposal was approved by the City Council, the monument was never built. Today, there are no crosses on Mormon temples. Yet two are...

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), who apologized last night after yelling “you lie!” during the president’s address to Congress, appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show to push back against the idea that he was actually wrong. “At the end of the day, you’re right and the president is wrong,” said Hannity. “You and I know it’s an expansion of big government, aside from giving benefits to illegal aliens,” said Wilson. He thanked Hannity and talk radio for pushing the issue and educating the public. “I think that there’s a fear here,” said Hannity. “I think they’re having a hard time dealing...

In the heated debates on health-care reform, not enough attention is being paid to the huge financial windfalls ObamaCare will dole out to unions—or to the provisions in the various bills in Congress that will help bring about the forced unionization of the health-care industry. Tucked away in thousands of pages of complex new rules, regulations and mandates are special privileges and giveaways that could have devastating consequences for the health-care sector and the American economy at large. The Senate version opens the door to implement forced unionization schemes pursued by former Govs. Rod Blagojevich of Illinois in 2005 and...

The attack on Gadragaon, by a mob that chanted “Hail Mother India” as they razed the village, was among the first of the grim litany of atrocities committed against minority Christians in the state of Orissa over the past two weeks. The Vatican has called the wave of violence “a sin against God and humanity”. A nun has been gang-raped; a worker at a church-run orphanage burnt alive. In the Kandhamal district, the site of the worst attacks, Kamalini Naik, who was seven months pregnant, was ordered to denounce Christianity and convert to Hinduism by a baying mob. When she...

Barack Obama gave the most important speech of his presidency tonight and it was a partisan speech which -- as Ed Shultz put it on MSNBC -- said to Republicans, "we're going to roll over you." We will see if this political calculation works, or whether the Democrats driven by their ideological passions have over-reached and made another political miscalcuation which will bring their numbers even further to the ground. But perhaps the most remarkable moment of the speech -- and certainly the most politically bone-headed -- was to single out Sarah Palin and call her a liar because she...

[Each month, Heartland Institute Science Director Jay Lehr, Ph.D. presents evidence that mankind has no significant impact on the Earth’s climate.—Ed.] The National Aeronautic and Space Agency (NASA) has determined Mars, Pluto, Jupiter, and the largest moon of Neptune warmed at the same time the Earth recently warmed. Two hundred million years ago, when dinosaurs walked the Earth, the average carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere was 1800 ppm, five times higher than today. All four major global temperature-tracking outlets (Hadley UK, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, University of Alabama-Huntsville, and Remote Sensing Systems Santa Rosa) have released updated...

The bail out of General Motors and Chrysler is turning out to be a bigger problem for the country than originally thought. In creating the bankruptcy the POTUS turned things on their heels by forcing the primary investors to take a secondary stance in recovering their objection to the UAW. Basically he bailed out the UAW more than the Detroit auto industry. Earlier this week we found out that taxpayers face losses on a significant portion of the $81 billion in government aid the UAW though GM and Chrylser. The Congressional Oversight Panel (COP) did not provide an estimate of...

Not Just Israel’s Problem by: Malcolm A. Kline, September 10, 2009 The stateside narrative on the Middle East has it that those most ardently arguing a tough stance against Iran are Israeli hardliners and their American supporters. As with most international stories that America’s press corps and academic elites weigh in on, the view looks quite different on the scene. “The Arab states are as, if not more, nervous about a nuclear Iran as Israel is,” Dore Gold, the former Israeli ambassador to the U. S. said last week. Gold, who lives with his family in Jerusalem, spoke at...

The map of the collapse of the United States in 2010, made by Russian scientist of politics Igor Panarin, has received millions of views in the United States over one day only. The Wall Street Journal published the map on its front page at the end of 2008. Alaska is pictured on the map as a part of Russia. Hawaii were shown as a territory of Japan, whereas four new states were pictured on the territory of the USA: the Californian Republic, the Central North American Republic, the Texas Republic and the Atlantic America, which included the traditional states. BREAKING...

Did President Obama Lie? Well, did he? I heard a figure for the number of speeches Obama has given since elected. The number was a little hard to believe but after some checking, I believe the number is close. CBS reported that President Obama delivered his 200th speech since taking office when Obama announced his nomination for U.S. Surgeon General on July 13, 2009. At a later date, a blog site posted the number of speeches and remarks as 262. The addition of the word “remarks” detracts somewhat from the information I was seeking but worthwhile nothing nonetheless. The 262...

My son, who is in the Army stationed in Germany, will be home for Christmas. He and a buddy are planning a trip to Vegas over the new year. Anyone know of any good deals for a poor 2nd. Lt. and friend? I thought I read recently that there are a glut of hotel rooms in Vegas right now but can't remember where I read it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

After what he called an "excellent and informative Cabinet meeting," President Obama told reporters that he accepts the apology of Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, who shouted "You lie!" during the president’s address to a joint session of Congress last night. "Yes I do," the president said. "I’m a big believer that we all make mistakes. He apologized quickly and without equivocation. And I’m appreciative of that." Mr. Obama then turned to use Wilson as something of an example – making this a teachable moment, perhaps – saying that "we have to get to the point where we can have a...
