It may have been a breach of protocol, and it may have been inappropriate but Rep. Joe Wilson got his point across. When Obama claimed his health care proposal would not cover illegals, Rep. Joe Wilson twice shouted “you lie”. He is right. Not only is the President lying about not paying for illegal aliens health care, he has been caught lying before (SEE VIDEO - Right Column). Senator John McSHAME was quick to try to appease the President and said this on CNN, “There is no place for it in that setting, or any other, and he should apologize...

Gold gets dug out of the ground in Africa, or someplace. Then we melt it down, dig another hole, bury it again and pay people to stand around guarding it. It has no utility. Anyone watching from Mars would be scratching their head. - Warren Buffett The reasons why one should sell the cat, pawn the mother-in-law, and use the proceeds to buy gold are well known: the Fed is printing money faster than you can read this, which will result in inflation; the government is borrowing like a drunken monkey, so the dollar will be devalued; this will debase...

Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) – A top adviser to President Barack Obama told CNSNews.com the White House hopes the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will come to understand that the Democrats’ health care reform legislation does not cover abortion. “I think the church has been a great progressive force on issues like this. Hopefully, bishops will see a way to support this (health care reform legislation),” David Axelrod, senior advisor to the president, told CNSNews.com Wednesday night. Axelrod said he does not believe the Catholic Church is intentionally spreading misinformation, as the White House says other opponents of the legislation are...

Clearly, Rep. Wilson’s “uncalibrated” timing of his outburst will sidetrack the easily distracted from the real issue at hand: Last month the President said “This is not just about the 47 million Americans who don't have any health insurance at all.” Magically last night, we went down from 47 million uninsured in America to “over” 30 million American “citizens”. And that was without spending a dime! Who are these missing 17 odd million uninsured people? The Department of Homeland Security reported that the number of illegal aliens as of January 2008 was about 12 million. Imagine that. What's five million...

Sep 9, 2009 10:40 pm US/Central Air Rifles And BB Guns: Toys Or Weapons? SEND A TIP TO THE 2 INVESTIGATORS Reporting Dave Savini CHICAGO (CBS) ― Just a few hours ago a Naperville high school student was arrested for shooting a BB gun at students from Chrone middle school. Fortunately no one was hurt. Not the same can be said for one Glen Ellyn woman who had a BB pellet pulled out of her heart. That's why there is a growing call to have BB guns and air rifles regulated like handguns. CBS 2 Investigator Dave Savini takes a...

Looks like Harry is trying to dig himself out of a hole he dug with his own mouth. Last week, just before a speech to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Reid told an advertising executive at the conservative Las Vegas Review-Journal, "I hope you go out of business." Well, that didn't go over well back at the newsroom. The editors went ballistic and are gunning for Reid. Apparently the blowback is hurting Dingy Harry and everybody on the left now (desperately) wants to laugh the whole thing off as a joke. Ol' Harry, he's such a card.

In the heated debates on health-care reform, not enough attention is being paid to the huge financial windfalls ObamaCare will dole out to unions—or to the provisions in the various bills in Congress that will help bring about the forced unionization of the health-care industry. Tucked away in thousands of pages of complex new rules, regulations and mandates are special privileges and giveaways that could have devastating consequences for the health-care sector and the American economy at large. The Senate version opens the door to implement forced unionization schemes pursued by former Govs. Rod Blagojevich of Illinois in 2005 and...

Today, the U.S. Census Bureau will release its annual poverty report. The report is expected to show an increase in poverty in 2008 due to the onset of the recession. It is no surprise that poverty goes up in a recession. What is surprising is that every year for nearly three decades, in good economic times and bad, Census has reported more than 30 million Americans living in poverty. What does it mean to be “poor” in America? For the average reader, the word poverty implies significant physical hardship — for example, the lack of a warm, adequate home, nutritious...

NEW YORK - US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is said to be frustrated over her lack of authority in her position. Despite her being the secretary of state, the Obama administration also has Richard Holbrooke as the “special representative” for Afghanistan and Pakistan, George Mitchell as “special envoy” to the Middle East. “President Obama’s picks fly in even if they didn’t pay their taxes. But, her picks take forever. Plus, she has no real clout over Holbrooke or Mitchell,” the New York Post quoted a Democrat, as saying. According to reports, Clinton is considering quitting the job to retake...

Liberals often say that education would be better if we paid teachers more. I agree that's true, to the extent that offering higher salaries would draw better applicants for teaching positions. But what the libs mean is that they want to pay more to these teachers. These teachers, the libs reason, would teach better if they were better paid. This reasoning exposes a lot of well-covered flaws in liberal thinking, but it also covers some major negligence in liberal action: If you think these teachers aren't already doing their best, then why aren't you firing them? If, as liberals suggest,...

What do you think of Rep. Joe Wilson's "outburst?", Should lawmakers issue a formal censure of Rep. Wilson, Do you believe President Barack Obama is telling the truth about his healthcare plans?" Also, notice this line from the article the poll is connected to: "In the eight hours since Wilson's outburst, his Democratic opponent, former-Marine Rob Miller, has received nearly 3,000 individual grassroots contributions raising approximately $100,000, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said." Am I allowed to suggest that we respond similarly on Wilson's behalf by filling his coffers? Of course the media won't tell us how much Wilson's collected....

The NYPD and the LAPD, two of the country's largest police departments have taken a common path on the threat of Islamic terrorism. They both have decided to alter the way they do things, because not "offending" Muslims is apparently what is most important. Unfortunately it is obvious that the authorities of our country are not going to learn a thing from the mistakes that the UK has made.

A new version of a computer intrusion detection system being developed by the United States Department of Homeland Security has raised concerns from advocacy groups over privacy and the involvement of the National Security Agency (NSA) in the development of the software. The new system, known as Einstein 3, can reportedly read email as well as its original function, to detect malicious software. Civil rights group Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) called on the Obama administration to release information about the legal implications of Einstein 3, which will be rolled out across all government agencies. “While its predecessor merely...
