As some of you know, I have a daughter who's husband is employed with the U.S. State Department working out of a foreign post. Just heard from her this morning that she needs my and my husbands 1) Date of birth 2) Place of birth 3) City of birth 4) County of birth in order for my son-in-law to get re-certified.

We're just in-laws for pete's sake. WE are not the employees. I have no problem providing this information as I KNOW what hospital, when and where I was born.

The first thought that went through my head was, "Tell Zero's State Department to pony up HIS bonafides first!" The tyrant is demanding information from not only his employees, but his employees family members, that HE WON'T DO HIMSELF!

ARRRGHGHGHH!!!

Sorry, done screaming now.

I keep hoping and praying that the CIA will get back at the Obamaslime by exposing his records.

Come on, CIA, your worst is much better than anyone in the White House right now.

Do it.

If a security clearance is being applied for, this is normal. But you are correct, Obama needs to do the same.

Tell ‘em you were born in Kenya in 1961. That seems to be the magic formula these days....

For many decades it’s been customary to get background information of all family members (yes inlaws too) to obtain or update a security clearance- even to call the neighbors and ask questions about the applicant. My mother’s neighors thought I committed a crime when they all got called by security investigators.

obama, by election, was never vetted for a security clearance. Clinton waived a lot of his staffers through the system

If this is a background check for a security clearance, they may be verifying the people whom the employee has selected as contacts who can testify to his patriotism and good character. Perhaps that's why the information needs tobe supplied: to prove that you can fulfill such a role.

Just taking a wild guess.

Years ago the preacher that lives next door to me stopped by to ask, “if everything was okay” after some folks showed up at his door asking questions about me.

This of course was during my SSBI.

They are pretty thorough...

That is a problem that has existed from the framing of the Constitution until today. It needs to be taken care of either through legislation or an amendment to the Constitution that sets up the criteria and process of what info that must be provide to whom in order to be qualified to be elected President. The sad thing is there apparently isn't any effort ongoing to accomplish the need.

In credit circles, and now with this administration, it is considered a “hard pull”

It’s unbelievable how much information you need to provide to get and renew a security clearance. We had to go back and make a family tree just to get everything we needed. I had to provide addresses of every place I had ever lived and the name, address, and phone number of three people that could verify each address. Maybe not a big deal if you don’t move a lot, but there were periods during my military career where we moved 12 times in 3 years.

As you know, Obama would have never received a security clearance.

The sad thing is there apparently isn't any effort ongoing to accomplish the need.

A tinfoilhatter would say "There's no need, because BO is going to set himself up as Dictator-for-Life".

I'm not one of those types.

I would not be surprised, however, if this quietly gets taken care of along about 2013. After BO's 2nd term election is decided one way or the other.

Maybe sooner, if it looks like he's going down in a Reaganesque Landslide in 2012 and an "Electable Democrat" (Hillary?) needs a clear shot.
