Joe gets up at noon because six conservatives got up at 6am to go to work and are forced by the government to pay 40-60% of their wages in taxes so that Joe can sit on his fat ass all day and watch his big screen TV and play video games on his computer. Before Joe heads down to the union hall for his protest assignment that day, he’ll go to Starbucks to buy coffee and a Danish at 1pm. But before that, he’ll stop by the local medicinal marijuana shop to get high because a liberal legislature enacted a...

Yevgeny Dzhugashvili, grandson of the former doctor of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin, has filed a lawsuit demanding damages of $300,000 for what he termed “the slander of my late grandfather by Novaya Gazeta.” The newspaper, as have most historians, attributed millions of murders to the regime headed by Stalin from the mid 1920s to his death in 1953. It is Dzhugashvili’s contention that every single one of these homicides “was in self-defense, not only of my grandfather’s own person, but of the entire nation.” The absence of evidence for the claim of self defense “is due to my grandfather’s...

Unemployment and job loss figures released for August 2009 by the U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics did not hold any promise for economic recovery reaching American households soon. While the number of jobs lost in August was down – a sign pointed to as evidence the recession is turning around – there was an increase in the number of people claiming unemployment. That figure jumped to 9.7 percent for all workers, up .3 percent from July and the highest level recorded in more than two decades. The August bump was driven by increases in the jobless rates for...

An administration official said special advisers to the president, or czars, are not required to fill out the questionnaire that runs 7 pages and contains 63 questions. The entire questionnaire, the official said, is reserved for appointees who must win Senate confirmation. --- However, Fox News correspondent James Rosen spoke with 911Truth.org spokesman Mike Berger on Friday and Berger said Jones knew what the petition said and agreed with its contents. "He did agree with that statement and he did sign on to it," Berger said in a phone interview with Rosen. Berger said the group's "original board members individually...

"Thank you Cincinnati. Thank you, Ohio. Thank you labor," yelled President Barack Obama over the cheers of roughly 4,000 as he took the stage at the PNC Pavilion next to Coney Island moments ago. This followed fiery speeches by labor organizers at today'a annual AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic in Cincinnati. This is the first time a sitting president has addressed the annual picnic, the largest of its kind in the nation. White House officials estimate roughly 10,000 tickets were distributed to the speech, which was moved to the pavilion from the park grounds because of rain. "This is a unique...

"This isn't a policy speech. It's a speech designed to encourage kids to stay in school," an Obama administration spokesman told the Cable News Network in response to the uproar over the president's planned webcast and TV speech to the nation's schoolchildren on September 8. "The goal of the speech and the lesson plans is to challenge students to work hard, stay in school and dramatically reduce the dropout rate." But many parents have denounced the planned speech as an exercise in propaganda and "brain washing" and some have said they will keep their children out of school that day....

When President Barack Obama tries to salvage his healthcare agenda on Wednesday, it won’t be the first time. Obama’s heavily anticipated address to a joint session of Congress comes just six weeks after the White House tried to reclaim the healthcare debate in a nationally televised primetime press conference.Obama also held three town halls in August that were supposed to give him momentum after conservative opponents took control of the healthcare debate by criticizing Democratic proposals and lawmakers at local town halls. Now some of Obama’s allies in Congress say he needs to spell out his demands in this week’s...

Coal entrepreneur Don Blankenship put on a shindig at a reclaimed strip-mine site near Holden, West Virginia, for a Labor day picnic for 100,000 of his closest friends. Sean Hannity is there, so I suppose he will yak about it on his show tomorrow. Hank Williams Jr. is the main draw. Ted Nugent is the emcee. Nugent gave ‘em hell and told the crowd to fight back: “We have the perfect president for a nation that doesn’t care.â€

"We continue to lose manufacturing jobs, government jobs, retail jobs, financial services jobs. The economy continues to contract," Peter Morici, an economist at the University of Maryland More than 2.3 million Americans have lost their jobs since the stimulus went into effect, and that's a big chunk of the 6.9 million jobs that have been lost since the recession started last year. Many economists believe unemployment is a lagging indicator during a recession and is often the last part of the economy to recover. Vice President Joe Biden said last week the stimulus is working better than the administration had...

Tomorrow is being promoted as 'keep your children home from school' day. Various names have been used to describe the day from 'National Truancy Day' to 'Hall Pass Tuesday.' They all refer to the same thing. Parents all across the United States are keeping their children out of school tomorrow to protest Barack Obama's address to school children... The second thing to watch, however, is Congress. On Tuesday the House and Senate return from their summer break. 2 bills could be sent to the floor in short order without further debate, should the Democratic leadership decide to pull a fast...

In my last post I commented on Nobel Prize winning physicist Eugene Wigner’s article “The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics in the Natural Sciences,” in which Wigner describes as “miraculous” (1) that “laws” of nature exist; and (2) that we should be able to discover those laws. In this post I will use an exchange in the comment section of that post between ID proponent “StephenB” and Darwinist “Delurker” to illustrate the utter vacuity of Darwinist argumentation...

Photoshopped? Looks like it is, if it is not, why would the White House upload this picture knowing the controversy it would create... Here we go again. Another case of symbolism over substance, feeling the need to engage in these tactics to create an image of the President in the public's mind... The photo was uploaded onto the blog at whitehouse.gov/blog From the White House's new flickr.com/whitehouse photo page The site tells you that the photograph may not be manipulated President Barack Obama addresses a town hall meeting on health care insurance reform inside a hangar at Gallatin Field in...

VENICE (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived in Venice on Monday to attend the world premiere of Oliver Stone's documentary about him and his strained relations with the United States. "South of the Border" is a sympathetic portrait of the leader, casting him as a champion of the poor who has stood up to Washington. Chavez, surrounded by bodyguards, strolled with Stone on the Lido red carpet and signed autographs like a movie star ahead of the premiere at the Venice film festival. "What's happening in Latin America is like a Renaissance," the Venezuelan leader told reporters.

This is a video of an old man (the likes of which actually built this country) at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire. From what I understand, the old guy asked if the people in front of him were even from NH- he implied the congresswoman packed the small venue with supporters/friends. He is then dragged away by guys in black- what uniforms are the officers wearing?
