Have at him!
I was also stationed at Ellington in the mid 60's after serving at Buckly in Denver after serving in Iowa. I missed so many meetings it was like a joke. When I was doing my yearly two weeks active duty I told my leader my wife was due any time. He said go home and don't come back till she delivers. Record keeping not good and I never had anyone looking for me.
I'd like to see the whole Killian collection to see how many other memos he wrote on other Guardsmen, how many other orders for physicals he sent out and how many other suspensions from flying he ordered. I'm sure there's more than just Bush's in that file collection.
The quotes used by CBS were only partial, so we have no idea in what context they were used in the memos. They were probably edited by CBS to get the most effect for the point they wanted to present.
Two F-l02's with all the pilots coming back from Nam were not enough not to mention the F-102 was getting sent to the boneyard and being taken out of the inventory. As a member of the Guard, he could say he wouldn't want to transition to a new plane and he would be off flying status and the need for a flying physical was mute.
Funny screen name! *L*
He's not doing enough, making the same mistakes his Father made during Andrew with aid coming to slow, showed one angry woman yelling, "where's the calvary".
Are you kidding?????
Not Kidding. He used the Hurricane to attack Bush in a few different ways. If I was a non-informed voter and I saw that story I would think Bush does not care for the people of Florida and was provideing aid way to slow, and he was just there to get on camera.
I thought I read somewhere recently that there were pilots from the President's ANG group who WERE sent to Vietnam.
"It's not just the newly discovered memos causing trouble. There are new questions as to why, when he moved to Massachusetts to attend Harvard Business School, Mr. Bush did not sign up with a reserve unit there, as he promised in a letter when he left the Texas National Guard".
This was debunked by the White House today, citing Military records already in the hands of the media, proving that the President received legitimate early release to attend graduate school. The fact that the media had these records for sometime, and ignored them in their research, proves this is nothing but BULL$HIT!
It also proves that the rest of the story carries the same stench of LIES!

It's even worse than that. Few people outside of Texas know why Ben Barnes got the boot from office. They kicked him out because he was an unindicted coconspirator in the Sharpstown Stock Scandal - basically a huge financial scandal involving kickbacks and bribes where the Governor, Speaker of the House, and Lt. Governor (Barnes) ramrodded a banking bill favor through the legislature for businessman Frank Sharp, who then lined their pockets with a huge loan to buy his own company's stock, which in turn served as colateral for the loan. This artificially drove up the value of Sharps' stock until they bilked it off at inflated prices onto the endowment of a private high school in Houston then took the money and ran, leaving now worthless stock behind. Barnes essentially got the boot because he helped a crony businessman cheat a bunch of kids out of their education money.
They did mention that he is a big Kerry supporter. They did not mention Benston...when Barnes said that he helped many people get into the Guard, a REAL journalist would have asked who else......Blather did not ask.
thanks....i praying for andre
i didn't move to houston until 1993 but this guy is notorious for being a crook....then first he says the bush family didn't asked for help with the ANG and then, now that he's prominent with the skerry campaign, says they did....this guy has no credibility...
No...now they are claiming that it was when he was Speaker of the TX House.
I am not one who thinks they faked documents. However, I have seen the media time and again misrepresent and distort the contents of documents:
New Evidence Supports Bush Military Service (Mostly)
February 2004
excerpt:
The Boston Globe reported Feb. 12 that Bushs suspension from flight duty while he was in Alabama should have prompted an investigation by his commander in Houston under Air Force regulations in effect at the time. The Globe also said It is unclear whether Bush's commander, Lieutenant Colonel Jerry B. Killian, ordered any inquiry, as required. Killian is deceased.

It never does when a rat is involved, and Rather is a rat by no other name. The first President Bush nailed him in an interview in 1988, and it has been pay back time ever since.(by the way it was a sight to behold)
"most of his contemporaries? MOST men of sevice age at that time DID NOT enter the service . Of those of us who did, MOST of us did NOT go to Vietnam.
--US Army, 3rd Med Bn, 3rd ID 1971-1973
Where did Dan say these memos were found?
Vietnam Veterans are accusing Kerry of legal TREASON over on Hannity and Coomes on FOX news right now, tee hee
What did they say on H&C? How did Colmes react?
