Pinellas Pasco Judge Greer set October 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. for her feeding tube to be removed. There's something wrong with Florida's exit protocols and the way the courts handle new information re: criminality (misrepresentation, attempted murder, etc.) affecting a case. There was no living will, only the assertion of a very suspect, so-called husband, his brother, etc. that Terri would not want to live on life support. Terri is not on life support, she is not comatose or PVS and she is not living "artificially". She does get sustenance from a feeding tube but only because she has been denied rehabilitation by her so-called husband after he won a malpratice lawsuit three years after her collapse (cause unknown but probably due to strangulation or physical abuse, or both) which is why Terri needs an army of supporters to spread her story from coast to coast. Terri has retained rights that are being sidestepped because she is disabled and has been denied rehabilitation! The technologies of rehabilitation have greatly improved exponentially yet Judge Greer has not let Terri have a chance to learn to eat or to be able to learn to speak/communicate again. Also new information bearing on the case which shows criminality on husband's side has not been considered by the 2nd District Court of Appeals who handed down Mandate for termination of Terri's feeding based upon testimony of criminal husband and brother as above stated. Who is next?

I'll have to agree with Robert that with the responses that were being received out of Jeb's office up until, during and after he wrote the letter to Greer were very disheartening. It was like he wrote just to appease people but at the same time slapped them in the face with the exact opposite of appeasement and what was suggested was pure ignorance, complacency, and subterfuge. And what outraged me the most was another ridiculous, unresponsive, uncaring letter, that went out suggesting about living wills, etc. well that was a total slap in the face to Terri's plight and her case in particular in which they were responding. It was if they didn't study all the facts of the case, either that or they are just as demented as Michael, Felos, Greer, etc. But maybe the e-mails that came out of his office were not reviewed by him but was written by some intern who didn't have a clue! The examples are in the threads and if the letter isn't there I can get it but it really really upset me. This is not a popularity contest and if they are trying to get popularity they aren't getting it by treating their constituency that way, etc. Who do they think they are kidding? Fact of the matter is that Greer was acting as the State of Florida so they might as well have been pulling the feeding tube from Terri's stomach themselves. Judicial matter! Try complete circus except for I'm not laughing. We'll see what happens but if they don't wise up there are not going to have popularity at all because Terri's plight is not going to fade away. They can either stand up for what is right or they can go down into history as total losers and worse. I wouldn't want to hurt Terri's case in any way and I do understand the concern about not contacting Crist, etc. but noone can control this completely at this time as the word has gotten out beyond just Free Republic, etc. I do have to say that if Crist or Jeb would be turned to hurt Terri by people expressing their concern for her well-being, etc. then they are worse than subhuman. They can go talking to children all they want about reading and learning but it won't cover the fact of their complacency in this matter. Every day that goes by that Terri is not getting out from under control of Michael and getting the rehabilitation she deserves is a travesty and it certainly makes a statement about the system that has allowed this to happen, this in all branches of state powers, etc. I read the 2nd District Court of Appeals decision and it made me want to wretch.. it is pure evil what they were saying and is not the law, it is a mockery of the law and yet was issuing forth from the very seats of the law. If this isn't unconstitutional I don't know what is. The facts of the case spell out blatant criminality and corruption and whoever doesn't stop it is guilty of any harm that comes to Terri. This has gone to the Federal level and if it doesn't stop there then what I have said here will apply as a mirror on the Federal level itself. Thanks for listening.

Some of the online accounts of Cruzan's case say her father was a "hero," to fight so long and hard for his daughter's right to die.

They blame his suicide on his being exhausted from having to pursue that fight.

2nd District Court of Appeals decision

I believe that this court, like the Supreme Court of FL, is primarily a Lawton Chiles court. People in FL just loved Lawton Chiles -- saw him originally as a "Huck Finn" kind of politician. They had no idea of the chicancery going on in the name of the Chiles administration.
