Just in. I am looking at a picture of the WTC with smoke pouring out of the western tower. Looks like a huge amount of damage. Debris raining down on people in the street.

I will never forget.

God, on this day of mourning for our nation and mankind, I ask you to please keep us safe from our enemies, both foreign and domestic, who wish on a daily basis to see this great nation fall. Guide us. Protect us. Give comfort to the family and friends of those who died in these tragedies on 9/11. Their sorrow is our sorrow. Please give us strength to stand strong as a nation again, unite against our foes. Give our men and women of the Armed Forces strength everyday to fight for our freedoms. Please keep them safe and if that is not in Your plan, may Your light and love be a guiding light and consolation to those who have lost their loved ones. Thank you, Lord, for my friends and family, including all my cyber friends. We may not know each other but we speak in one voice and honor and love You. Please guide us through this day and tomorrow as our patriots march on the ground You gave us to fight the enemies within our nation so that we may triumph in Your name once more.

Thank you, God, for all you have given us. We ask you to forgive our sins, our petty differences so that we may unite as one, stand strong as one, and know again what it feels like to be an American. I love you, God.

I want them to hide in dark caves and holes in the earth,

I want their mothers to be able to admonish them with

One of the people leaping from the towers landed on Fr. Mychal Judge, who was ministering to the injured on the ground below, killing him. Peter Johnson, Jr., a regular on FNC, was talking about him this morning—Fr. Judge had officiated at their wedding, etc.

Nine years ago this Saturday... NEVER FORGET.

September 13, 2001: A caravan of ambulances moving very slowly, toward the morgue at Roosevelt Hospital.

They nearly got my daughter in 1993.

In 2001 they got my neighbor and friend.

In 2004, my cousin gave his life to protect ours.

We spent a couple of nights in the Marriott that used to stand between the two towers around 1999 or so. I admit I was always kind of afraid of that area after the 1993 bombing. Who could have ever imagined 9/11/01??

Wow... how awful.

Of course I don't live in NYC, but I remember being in mid-town around St. Patrick's Cathedral after 9/11/01 a couple of times. Seemed like every day, there was a funeral for a member of the FDNY or NYPD. Black shrouds at every fire house, American flags taped to every shop and apartment window, posters of the missing everywhere... Unreal.
