President Trump and his aides wasted little time opening a campaign of retribution against those he blames for his impeachment, firing on Friday two of the most prominent witnesses in the inquiry against him barely 48 hours after the Senate acquitted the president.
Emboldened by his victory and determined to strike back, Mr. Trump fired Gordon D. Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union, within hours of the White House dismissing Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a decorated Iraq war veteran who was a Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. Both officials testified to a House committee about the president’s efforts to pressure Ukraine to help him against his domestic political rivals.
“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” Mr. Sondland said in a statement just hours after Colonel Vindman’s dismissal. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Trump “for having given me the opportunity to serve.”

He has been working hard against the Deep State, but I think he finally understands that it is deeper—wider—and more evil than he ever could have imagined.
Holdovers are only treacherous persons who will continue to disrupt him at any possible level until they are all cleared out.

Also- When you have to fire or discharge or lay off a person in your business, you are correct to pay them severance pay , change the locks & passwords, and get them out of the buildings. Letting them have a 2 week notice only gives them time to cause serious mischief.
I heard one story years ago about a women who was given 2 weeks notice at a publishing company. She spent the next 2 weeks wiping out all of the subscription records for the magazines they published. It was VERY costly to rebuild that database. Should have prosecuted her.

He’s conducting the “purge” in logical fashion - after some events occur and so as to not screw with Barr/Durham investigations...Vindman and Sondland were de-fanged and it would have been bad optics to fire them before the acquittal and allowed them to scream more “Coverup” crap.
If nothing else, the President is rationally methodical and prescient with his timing.

My only regret is that PDJT didn’t have Vindman frog marched out of the WH rather than walking upright.
Sondland was disloyal to PDJT because the Dem liberal fascists put financial pressure on his family back home, they got to him, and he folded like a Bolshevik instead of standing strong like a patriot should, and betrayed the Presidents Trust.
One cannot work for the president without anticipating being in a fight. And many can’t take it and fold against the residual Obama hegemon. I hope the President cleans all of them out of the CIA/NSA/NSC. he could have done in his first week.But our President gave them a chance to serve him, and now there will be no more chances because he cannot function as president otherwise.The so called purges are therefore justified, and they have just begun. Thankfully there is about to be a lot of “downsizing.”
