The most important things in life are honor and trust. If someone doesn’t have that, then someone isn’t worth a f***ing damn.

The last I heard, no one needs to cite their credentials in voicing an opinion about firing someone or anything else. I am sorry that you think or feel that it has come to that.

Well, you’re right. But it’s like when Rush starts singing the national anthem anytime he says “Lootenant kernel Vindman”.

Because, yes, the news media always resorts to ad hominimem attacks when someone speaks out.

Like questioning Obama = racism.

They are in reality are arrogant, unprincipled, corrupt and undermining the integrity of our government institutions.

Today I was excoriated for not wanting to sign a petition having to do with voting (I didn’t read it) because my signature was helping to pay the person’s rent. I got a mouthful of fs and grumbling about what people are like these days. Obviously the content of the petition and whether the signer was honest about his/her opinion was irrelevant. IMO integrity is an irrelevancy for some large percentage of Americans.

“And it is drifting down to the underclasses.”

Very true.

I recently read an article written in 1965 that included the following passage: “In an age when patterns of thought were determined by systems of value and belief other than those derived from the Bible and Christian tradition, Christians were, relatively speaking, a shrinking minority in a world that was becoming increasingly indifferent to the pretensions of organized religion.”

Our society at large has benefited from its religious influences and origins. People controlled themselves, not because there was a law passed by the government, but because there was a common moral code that people tried (successfully most of the time) not only to behave accordingly, but also to hold their elected officials (who also ascribed to said code) accountable. The “underclasses” and average person is where religious faith was the bedrock. There are a multitude of reasons for its waning; hence it is no surprise that we are witnessing the undermining of our institutions because the principles of self-government have quietly been shifting to some other value system, accepted or acquiesced by the average person. Hope is not lost for restoration, but it will not be an easy road.

Been off politics since Friday morning so the firing of Vindman was news to me. Holy crap! What a great POTUS! A fighter. I’m still not clear what Vindman’s role was? He wasn’t in the military any longer so was he fired from an advisory position in the White House? “Escorted out saying we no longer require your services.” LOL. Love it!

He can only fire appointed government workers without cause. I believe the rest are protected by Civil Service regulations unless fired for cause and even then they have rights.

Zelinsky ran on an anti-corruption campaign. So there is a good chance that many of the previous ambassadors were part of the previous administrations corruption. The level of corruption in US government is much less.

He can’t fire them, as they have civil service protection. So stop pushing that TRASH, pal.

He can rent a warehouse within the civil service posting boundaries, I don't recall off hand how many miles away that can be. (it's been a lot of years since I dealt with civil service folks) Fill the warehouse with desks and chairs and nothing else. No phones, no computers, just restrooms, break rooms, chairs and desks. Institute a hiring freeze, and wait for the resignations and retirements.

When you are the personal representative of the president, and you deliberately make damaging and distorted assumptions about his intentions and policies, that is worse than “wrongdoing.” It Is malfeasance in office, insubordination, and cause for dismissal.
