Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Bautch's leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.
The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:
Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.
The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.
Dear Lord Jesus, be with these witnesses to the truth, with these who have been persecuted for standing up for thy truth, as manifested in Sarah Palin. Heal them every bit whole, and fill them with the joy of knowing that great is their reward in heaven!

When do you think Louisiana should have done this? Should Gov. Blanco have pulled the La. National Guard out of Iraq to seize the levees from the U..S. Army? Louisiana should have realized a century ago that building a city below sea level on the coast in hurricane country was idiocy, abandoned it, and moved inland.
It’s not like hurricanes are a new 20th century phenomenon.
That's right.
And the Federal Government has no constitutional authorization to provide disaster assistance to any of them.
Because they don't make a .46!

Hate to say it, but if you are in the FQ of New Orleans, are out numbered, the last thing you want to do is turn toward harrassers. It`s like begging for a beat down.

Nineveh became modern day Mosul in Iraq. (which I learned from The Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem thread hosted by leftthatothersite).
It is indeed spiritual warfare that is taking place. We need to remember that while we must be ready and able to defend and protect ourselves and those we love and others, that the weapons of our warfare are also, and primarily, spiritual, not carnal.
That we need to go to Ephesians Chapter 6 and put on the Armor of Jesus Christ every day, and become adept at using the “Sword of the Spirit” which is the Word of God!
I am sure that Sarah Palin does this every day.
I am sure George W. Bush did this - probably does this - every day.
God has provided each one of us His perfect protection and His weapons which are given to us in order to destroy every work of satan and to protect and defend ourselves and others.
We also need to remember that God has sent His angels as guardians and protectors of us also.
These angels would make these thugs turn tail and run for all they are worth!
I am witnessing God’s divine intervention and protection every single day.
And I thank Him, and know that He goes before and behind me every step of the way. I know that His angels are all around me also protecting me and delivering me and ALL THOSE FOR WHOM I PRAY - from all evil.
As Jesus prayed simply - Father, deliver us from evil - is really all we need to pray, knowing that God is always faithful to hear and answer our prayers!

People wanted to kill him and tried to all during his 3 year ministry on this earth, but it was not until the exact, precise time and purpose that his enemies ALLOWED to harm him physically (but, of course they never truly harmed Him and God turned their intended harm into the greatest good that has ever occurred in all of history!)
Also, it has been strongly impressed upon me that we need to pray for our law enforcement officers - local, state, national.
These are God’s and our “frontline” troops in this battle against evil.
May the Lord Jesus Himself go before and behind every single one of those reading this, of those in the Teaparty movement, of those working to restore this nation, and of our brave and dear loved ones in the military and their families.

I’m a bit defensive about New Orleans...with all it’s flaws it’s still like my second home....probably all those childhood memories there with my long since departed parents when I was laddie

Local N.O. criminals, and the more nasty Katrina returnees, are part of the “Chocolate City.” In so many words, there are not a whole lot of criminal N.O. black men wearing auburn colored pony tails.
The French Quarter is lousy with hotel and bar security cameras and the local criminals, particularly the violent ones, are known by the bouncers, local security staff and beat cops on sight.
They are bad for business.
The NOPD reports the Perps were a group of 3-to-5 whites in the N.O. French Quarter; whites who, as a group, confronted, and beat down Bautsch and Brown. The NOPD also reported the Perps who did the beating looked a whole lot like the anarchist protesters in the photos and videos of the Republican fund raiser, right down to the hair, dirt and smell.
Local thrill beaters – usually groups of young men who get off on physically dominating and humiliating others like Gays or the homeless — would be known to the French Quarter security and law men and would be on the list of usual suspects. A list that would have been used by now, given who was beaten.
There have been no arrests since the story surfaced on the Right Wing blogs.
Thrill beatings don’t lead to compound leg fractures (See broken leg requiring surgery) of the female half of a couple that is beaten. Usually the M.O. of such criminals is the male half of the victim couple gets bashed in the head and kicked on the ground, while the female half is left to watch her male companion’s humiliation.
That didn’t happen here. Bautsch had her leg broken so badly it required surgery. IMO, based on that, I think the perps either used a blunt instrument or more likely boots to stomp on the five foot nothing tall Allee Bautsch while she was on the ground.
Note as well that Bautsch used her purse as a pillow after the attack, AKA _the attackers were not criminal muggers_. She had it stolen after the attack while being treated by EMS.
So the perps were not locals, not muggers, they found their victims within a couple of blocks from a Republican event with anarchist protesters present, and the perps brutally assaulted the Female aide to Gov Jindal more than they did her boy friend.
If the attackers are not local N.O. or Katrina returnee criminals, and Occam Razor does not slice for thrill seekers based on the compound fracture, all that is left is a targeted political beating.
Gov Jindal and the local powers that be are trying very hard to drop the cone of silence on this for fear of the effects of this on the N.O. tourist trade and specifically the 2012 N.O. bid for the Republican national convention.
If Jindal cannot protect his own aide from anarchists, how can he protect his RNC convention goers?
A very important line for the Right was crossed here. The Left is going after the Right’s women.
And the Right’s elected leadership is trying to cover it up, rather than catch and punish the perps.
That is a bad play for a number of reasons.
Okay. What city are you talking about? You know New Orleans is not on the coast, right? Surely you’re not that ignorant?
Again, when exactly do you think should Louisiana should have demanded the US Army stop building levess? Would you have supported Gov. Blanco seizing the levees from the US Army by force in 2004?
Five miles inland from Lake Borgne, which is essentially a bay of the Gulf of Mexico, is “on the coast”, like it or not.
They should have said 100 years ago “We’re moving inland, above sea-level; we don’t need your levees anymore”.
Apparently not only the population of New Orleans, but the city government of New Orleans and the state government of Louisiana is fully composed of parasites who want the Federal Government to fix the hurt boo-boo and scare away the things that go bump in the night.
