So, you’re saying the State of Louisiana should have taken up arms against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and seized the levees?

That’s why it’s Louisiana’s fault the federal levees spontaneously crumbled?

When do you think Louisiana should have done this? Should Gov. Blanco have pulled the La. National Guard out of Iraq to seize the levees from the U..S. Army? Maybe Huey Long should have led the attack on FDR’s Army? Maybe Gov. Claiborne should have told Thomas Jefferson to lay off with the Army Engineers he kept sending over?

Louisiana should have realized a century ago that building a city below sea level on the coast in hurricane country was idiocy, abandoned it, and moved inland.

It’s not like hurricanes are a new 20th century phenomenon.
