Seems Kerry's "I'm a Swift Boat Hero" story has sprung another leak.
Kerry claimed a Bronze Star with "V" device for rescuing Jim Rassmann, an Army SF 0-2 after a mine exploded under a boat, knocking Rassman into the water.
That Kerry pulled Rassman out of the water is not contested, but the Bronze Star is now being questioned.
According to tro friends at network, not just Rassman but a total of 4 men went into the water that day. Kerry saved Rassman, another boat saved another soldier and a third boat pulled two people to safety!
The problem is, for the other boat skippers, it was all in a day's work. No medals were asked for, recomended or awarded.
Kerry pulls one in four out of the water and gets the Bronze Star!
What does not compute here????

Yup, and Rassman was only in the water because he fell off the boat when Kerry made a herky jerky move after another boat was hit by a mine. So, but for Kerry's lousy skippering, Rassman wouldn't have been in the water.

According to an article in the NY Times June 27, 2004 posted at blog.johnkerry.com, it is George Butler. Butler's name is also prominently on the cover of Kerry's book The New Soldier, along with David Thorne

Mr. Butler shot both of Mr. Kerry's weddings, all of his campaigns, countless family vacations.
While I loathe the demosocialistmarxistleftistclymerlyinglibs in the media....and I certainly throw blame on them. I don't hold them totally responsible.
We both witness here @ FR..that there are thousands/millions of people who think for themselves..and with just a little bit of investigation, just a little effort...find out the truth. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've come to the point..that ultimately the blame sits squarely on the shoulders of my fellow citizens.

This particular story is being told on The Roger Hedgecock. The story is NOTHING like what Kerrey is saying. They were NOT under fire and the reason the guy fell off the boat was because Kerry took off when a hand detonated grenade took off and hit a boat in the pack. Protocol says you go to the boat that's hit and take care of the wounded, but John Kerry ran and when he ran he knocked the guy off the boat! Then one of the guys on the boat told him there was a man overboard. THERE WAS NEVER ANY ENEMY FIRE, thereby making him ineligable for the medal that he received. They've been working and they have all the people and facts together now!
Maybe this is so obvious that it hasn't been specifically mentioned, but if he was in Cambodia on Christmas Eve 1968 and claiming that was Nixon's fault, he's lying again. Nixon didn't take office until 1/20/69.
