Day #50 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the last couple of months. We are coming down the home stretch here, folks -- and we will be done this week, God willing!
And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)
Have fun with this, folks!

If you’re wondering about those Spanish lyrics at the end, here they are:
Que linda me la traiga Cuba,
la reina de la Mar Caribe.
Cielo sol no tiene sangreahi,
y que triste que no puedo vaya,
Oh va, oh va, va.
How beautiful Cuba brings me,
the queen of the Caribbean Sea.
Sky sun has no blood there,
and how sad that I can’t go,
Oh go, oh go, go.
This one has an interesting story behind it. It was written by Stephen Stills about his then-girlfriend, singer/songwriter Judy Collins. They both knew their breakup was imminent, and she was helpful in composing it even though some of the lyrics refer to her scheduled visits to her psychiatrist/therapist ("Will you come see me Thursdays and Saturdays? What have you got to lose?"). LOL.
"Chestnut brown canary, ruby throated sparrow ... sing a song, don't be long ... thrill me to the marrow."
Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list for the last few days!
Thanks for posting that. I always wondered about them, but assumed they were gibberish even in Spanish! LOL.
Another point of interest: I believe Stephen Stills played every instrument track on the studio version of this song. He may be one of the most underrated talents in modern music.
Their paean to Judy Collins................
I will use that post on the final day to post hyperlinks to all 51 of these songs in the 2024 edition of this list.
Thank you!
My pleasure! If you need assistance, FReepmail me.
Ah, another great song and a group I have seen, also at Lakeland Civic Center, FL during their CSN tour.
Many of your songs are not “high” on my list, but when you post them I say to myself, “Yeah… could see that.”
I hate their politics. But I liked their music.

Thank you both!
A great list of songs brought to life!
Another beautiful one.
This song was written by Joan Osborne and a big hit for her. But I like Prince's very powerful version far better. No disrespect intended for Joan but Prince owns this song completely. This is a song that you want to play with the speakers super loud, preferably in a dark room with maybe some Christmas lights. While not a Christmas song per se, it definitely evokes the feeling of Christmas, like some of the other songs on my list, including my number #1, which I will not reveal until you release your full list.
Getting into some rare territory here with this list!
