Counting Down my iTunes Play Count (VANITY) -- Day #43
AC’s iTunes Directory | 10/31/2024 | Alberta's Child

Posted on 10/31/2024 8:45:07 AM PDT by Alberta's Child

Day #43 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the last couple of months. We are coming down the stretch here, and it looks like this will be done by the second week of November.

And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)

Have fun with this, folks!

Pinging to those from the previous threads. A simple song from a more innocent time, with memories of long road trips across this great country.

I made another exception and posted the actual music video for this one, since the story does have a story behind it. Kathy Mattea wrote this song after crossing paths with a random fan at a truck stop on a road trip, and the rest is history.

"They'll buy a Winnebago, set out to find America ... they'll do a lot of catching up, a little at a time."

Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!

What, no YT hotlinks? Lazy... Screw it...I’m going back to Napster.

The YT hotlinks show up each day I post a song!

Good point, though ... perhaps I will go back and repost all the hotlinks once I get to the #1 song on the list.

Thanks. Just being snarky, for the sake of snarkiness. I once waited for a Napster tune to download...somebody’s idea of high comedy...and got this instead of the tune I was expecting. Big yucks.

I remember Madonna doing something like that with one of her songs on Napster, but instead the listener got Madonna in a profanity-laden rant against music piracy.

I’d prefer a profanity-laden rant to most of her catalog.

I know. And looking for it on YT, I see that it’s been remastered, for all the audiophiles.
