This one has an interesting story behind it. It was written by Stephen Stills about his then-girlfriend, singer/songwriter Judy Collins. They both knew their breakup was imminent, and she was helpful in composing it even though some of the lyrics refer to her scheduled visits to her psychiatrist/therapist ("Will you come see me Thursdays and Saturdays? What have you got to lose?"). LOL.
"Chestnut brown canary, ruby throated sparrow ... sing a song, don't be long ... thrill me to the marrow."
Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list for the last few days!
Many of your songs are not “high” on my list, but when you post them I say to myself, “Yeah… could see that.”
I hate their politics. But I liked their music.
