Ancient DNA reveals Europe's dynamic genetic history

Ancient DNA recovered from a series of skeletons in central Germany up to 7500 years old has been used to reconstruct the first detailed genetic history of modern Europe.

The study, published today in Nature Communications, reveals a dramatic series of events including major migrations from both Western Europe and Eurasia, and signs of an unexplained genetic turnover about 4000-5000 years ago.

The research was performed at the University of Adelaide's Australian Centre for Ancient DNA (ACAD). Researchers used DNA extracted from bone and teeth samples from prehistoric human skeletons to sequence a group of maternal genetic lineages that are now carried by up to 45% of Europeans.

Like you, I also believed the truth spoken in the Scriptures from the moment I accepted Christ in my heart.

Since then, I have endeavored to better understand the Word. So I have pushed myself to find the truth about things I believed but had difficult time explaining therm or leading others into the truth.

I have been blessed to be able to understand many things now, due to my ability to study the original texts in Hebrew and Koinonia Greek.

This has enabled me to delve deeply into the original meaning of texts, which in turn allows me to defend the faith with anyone who would use their limited knowledge to confuse others.

Apologetics is what all of Paul’s letters are. Defending the faith against those who would distort the truth. Like Paul, I will not back down from those who would steal the joy of my fellow Christians, by leading them down the road of heresy.

Giving your address to zealots on a mission to “educate” you is not a good idea.

I wonder what your excuse will be if I offer to send the book to Jim and let him send it to you so you will not have to worry about a zealot having your address.

After all, I am such a dangerous individual. I have only been a member of FR since February 1998, and all you need to do is search the WWW to find all the information one needs to locate where I live, work, and play .

I really do find it interesting that as a member of FR, you will not even accept a free copy of a book written by a DR whose expertise is DNA and biology. Even though I am offering to ship it to you at my expense.

As I said, you do not wish to debate and learn the truth. You sir, are what you accuse Creationist Christians like me of. A close minded individual who cares not about debating. What was it you accused me of?

You gave me your opinion, presented as self-evident truth. It is dogma. It's purpose is not to engage the debate, but to prevent it.

The truth is, your actions and your words show how you are guilty of what you accuse me of.

You need to stay away from debates that you are unwilling to be properly prepared for.

I'm pushing 60. You think you're the first self-appointed arbiter of truth that claim some divine right to tell me what I do and don't need to do I've run into?

You might as well just get over it, because you picked the wrong person to try that on.

So you have maybe 3 years on me. I do not stop sharing the truth with the ignorant just because they are 60. I will share it and attempt to get through the thick fog that keeps others confused even when I am 80 and they are 90.

Every day you get closer to the grave without accepting Christ as your Savior and admitting the truth, is one less day you have to change where your destination for eternity will be.

Eternity is a very long time, but even if you pass from this world not believing, you will still kneel down and call Him Lord before He sends you to Hell, where the worm never dies and the fire is never quenched.

Being 60 years old only means it is even more imperative that we reach you before it is too late. You know, dieing young and believing is not nearly as tragic as living a long time yet never knowing the joy of meeting Christ.

Knowing you are 60, makes me want to convince you of the truth even more. Why are you so obstinate in your refusal to learn the truth? Why? What happened in your life that made you so convinced that the lie is better than the truth?

It’s time for you to open your mind and heart to the truth. It will set you free, the truth always does.

I will pray for you. I will pray for you, and I will have my church pray for you, and I will have the FR prayer team pray for you. The prayers will be so powerful that you will not be able to sleep for the dreams of Christ the Creator.

The prayers will have you question every aspect of evolution. So much so that you will search out the truth and one day be a defender of the creator and His ways.

God will hear our prayers and you will either accept Christ and learn the joy of His Blessings, or you will be miserable for ignoring Him. Trust me He will NOT be ignored! He will not be ignored because He made you, and He loves you, and He wants you to spend eternity with Him.

Mark my word, one day your knee shall bend and you shall call Him Lord. You can either do it before your life in this world is ended, or after, but either way you will call HIM LORD!

I wonder if you have ever studied the story of the young levite (false priest)in the home of Micah. Judges 18

In Judges 18:30 he is said to be Jonathan, son of Gershom, son of Manasseh in the Hebrew Masorectic text and KJV.

In many modern translations, including Greek and Latin, Manasseh is changed to Moses.

I think names are very important to God in the scripture, therefore, I don’t think he would have allowed a hebrew scribe to change the name, so I don’t believe in the excuses given by scholars for this name change. Many of God’s heros of the old testament had thngs to be ashamed of and it is not left out or changed in scripture.

I believe this young man WAS the grandson of Manasseh. I have studied this a lot trying to find out the WHY?

Have you any thoughts on this?

I know the story, but have never done an exhaustive study on it. Now that you mention it, I will look into it.

Like you, I agree that we should not be changing anything in the Scriptures, not even names.

Like you, I agree that even the names of individuals in the Scriptures are important. They all mean something, unlike modern day names. In ancient days, especially in the Middle Eastern societies like the Israelites, the names told stories of the families and even prophecies of things to come.

Good example would be the names of those mentioned in Genesis leading up to the Flood. When Enoch named his son Methuselah, he was prophesying that God would send a flood at the end of his life. The Hebrew words incorporated in the name Methuselah literally spelled out Methuselah, “He dieth, and the sending forth,” so that Enoch gave it as prophecy of the flood.

Anyway, I will look into the names used in the account of the prophet.

By the way, the English translations I use are the NEW American Standard version and the new King James versions. What versions are you using that use Moses, because after a quick look I did notice that some do improperly use Moses.

As of now I am not sure why some use Moses, but I will look into it.

I find it interesting the people who claim belief in an omnipotent God so readily embrace such works as proof that he could not have created life with the ability to evolve.

It's not that He couldn't, but rather that macro evolution isn't the way that He chose to work. It is to His glory that He created all things fantastically complex and complete. He didn't need millions and millions of years. All He had to do is speak. He did create life with the ability to adapt and have variation within a kind, though.

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every [sort] shall come unto thee, to keep [them] alive.

Gen 7:14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein [is] the breath of life.

Gen 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

The evidendce of His Creation says othewise. The available physical evidence doesn't support the literal account of Genesis, and geological and radiometric evidence contrdicts the Ussher chronology.

The theories that try to explain the physical evidence in the fossil, radiometric, and geological records as a result of Noachian flood are hoplessy contradictory. They posit ocean conditions required to attain the fossilizations that would have been lethal to all aquatic life on the planet. They describe pheonoma like "hydrologic sorting" that should be easily reproducible in a lab, but can't be. They rail about evolution "violating the laws of thermodynamics" and then theorize about accelerated radiometric decay at rates that would have vaporized the planets crust without any thought to explaining where all that heat went. Asking them to explain it is taken as an invitation to correct the problems with your personal theology and teach you how to "get right with God".

Matt.19

[21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

[23] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

[24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

____________________________________________________________

I was wondering how you went about selling what you had and given to the poor. Did you need a lawyer and accountant to handle the paperwork? What sort of taxes, if any, did you have to pay? How is your life different since you gave up your possessions?

What pray tell, are you speaking of?

This scripture speaks to the point of that which you treasure above anything else is what will keep you from heaven.

With this young ruler it was his wealth. With others it could be their car, drugs, work, sex, or whatever is more important to them than God.

You need to put more work into understanding scripture, because I am guessing you grabbed a couple of verses to make a point that all Christians should give up their wealth. That is NOT what Jesus was speaking of.

That which keeps you from following Christ is what your treasure is. It is not money that will keep you from heaven, but the LOVE OF MONEY. Or, the love of anything you hold to be much more important than God.

Rich men can and do get to heaven, because that is not where their love is. Did you know that poor people love money more than God? Yes, often times, those with very little money are more in love with wealth than those who have much wealth.

See, Christ said it is much more difficult for those with much wealth to enter into heaven, because many times they will allow the money to run their life, instead of God. Case in point of a couple of rich men who did not allow their wealth to blind them from following Jesus, was Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. Both men were wealthy, but Christ did not tell them the same thing He did to the rich young ruler. That is because their wealth was not what they worshiped.

As the scripture tells us, Joseph was a disciple of Christ but secretive, because he was worried about the Jews finding out. So his problem was the same as Peter had, fear of reprisal for following Christ. Peter denied Christ three times, Joseph followed Jesus in secret. We all have our hangups, but as we learned Peter got over his, and tradition tells us that Joseph of Arimathea also got over his fear of the Jews persecuting him. However, it was not their love of money, nor their possession of much wealth.

The point being, that which you love much, or even are addicted to is what you worship, and that is what you treasure on earth. You could be addicted to money, sex, drugs, work, sports, cloths, the internet, or even video games. What ever you put above God, whatever keeps you from going to Christ is what you hold near and dear.

As for the rich young ruler, Jesus knew his heart. Jesus knew that his wealth is what he worshiped because that is where his heart was. He was a perfect example of a how the love of money is evil. Not money.

To say money is evil, is like saying guns cause death and destruction instead of the evil person using them. Or that SUV’s cause accidents and kill, instead of the driver behind the wheel.

You need to learn how to read the Bible for all it’s worth instead of cherry picking scripture that you think says what you want it to say.

Should you ever have other questions about questionable Scriptures, feel free to ask away, and I will help educate you on the truth.

Most "Arabs" and north Africans outside the Arabian peninsula have large amounts of Italic, Greek, hittite, Armenian, Iranian and other indo-european blood and very little "arab" genes

The replacement of a few thousand peoples around 2500 BC seem linked to both climate change and to the expansion of indo-europeans.
