Hello, Amy. It's good to see you too. You have a very nice place here, very nice.

Dubya,
I must be having the same computer problems Amy is having. My monitor sometimes gets very blurry like now. Thanks for posting #94. We've so much to learn from children's innocent and pure faith.

Good night, Amy, Dubya, all. zzzzzzzzzzzz :-)

Crème de Cassis

A sweet cordial steeped from black currants, crème de cassis dates back to the 16th century, when monks near Dijon, France, produced this ratafia as a cure for snakebites, jaundice, and wretchedness.

At about 50 proof, this viscous blood-red liqueur works well in pousse-cafés and some cocktails. Although most commonly mixed with just vermouth, white wine, or soda water, crème de cassis adds an unexpected smoothness to bourbon in a Cassis and to tequila in an El Diablo.

When mixed with white wine, the drink is called a vin blanc cassis or, more commonly, a Kir.

For cooking, try this:

melon with crème de Cassis de Dijon,
pouring over ice cream, vacherins, pears (pears à la Dijonnaise : vanilla ice cream, pears in syrup, with crème de Cassis de Dijon poured over them).

My top favorite remains:
Cassis sorbet with cassis berries, with crème de Dijon poured over it - but you don't have that in America.

I took a peek at your computer this morning so we would know what we should be celebrating. ;)

LOL! That's okay, as long as you didn't browse through my secret files. ;-)

Things have been crazy lately. Luckily, there's only 2 weeks of classes left in the semester and then a week of final exams. But I only give a final exam - I don't have to take any. (I just have a big paper to write instead.) I'm ready for the semester to be over with.

you know yesterday I bought a mini watermelon (cantelop size) and a honeydew melon. maybe I can cut them up with a few apples & put some vanilla IC atop & the liqueur...Not as creative as what you suggested but will go with what I have.. I dont have any idea where I could fine the exotic ice cream & cake you mentioned yesterday.

You must be a fine gormet cook. do you do a lot of french cooking? I have tried some with good results.. the wonderful sauces, wine laded dishes.. yummy. very time intense & not much room for error like other types of cooking

I haven't eaten a thing yet(not even my vitamins) so all this food talk is making my mouth water.

None whatsoever, I'm afraid.
I cannot even cook, so I'm not even a lousy cook ;-)

It just happened I'm a fan of cassis taste ;-)

A Home’s Heart

The cabin grew small when the children arrived,
But the happiness fit, and the family thrived.
With a little more room when they added a part,
That surrounded the fireplace that is a home’s heart.

With the breakfast in morning and smiles with the feed,
They scatter to fetch in the things that they need,
So when the day ends and they gather once more,
They’ll be sharing some things you can’t buy at a store.

There’ll be laughter and stories, and some kids to be kissed,
And a song and a prayer, and some items I missed.
When the fire goes out, there’s a sadness you sense,
That four walls without love ain’t much more than a fence.

We Can't But God Can

Read:
John 3:1-16

Unless one is born of . . . the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. -John 3:5

Bible In One Year: Psalm 37-39

cover Pastor Craig was having an intense conversation at a health club with Jacob, a man he had befriended. It started after Jacob climbed onto the exercise bike beside him. Craig asked, "Are you going to see the movie The Passion of the Christ?" "No!" came the quick response. As the two men pedaled side-by-side, they had a half-hour discussion about the purpose of Jesus' death. When they parted, Jacob said, "I still don't think I'll see the movie."

Craig felt frustrated. Nothing would please him more than to see Jacob open his heart to Christ. But he could see no evidence that Jacob would ever budge.

As believers in Jesus, we sometimes become frustrated when people who are not believers refuse to trust in Him. When that happens, we must remember that our role is to obey the command to tell others about Christ; the Holy Spirit's work is to convict and save them. People need to be born of the Spirit (John 3:5,7); we can neither believe for them nor redeem them. He is the One who convicts of sin, forgives, and imparts new life from above. We are powerless to do more-except pray.

We witness faithfully and pray, and God performs the miracle of salvation. -Dave Egner

Lord, help me make my witness clear
And labor faithfully,
So friends and neighbors turn to Christ
Through what they hear from me. -Anon.

We plant the seed; God gives the harvest.

St George: England
England's patron saint is St George, a famous dragon-slayer.
It is celebrated on 23 April and represented by a rose.

English people remember St George by taking part in music festivals and medieval dragon-fighting tournaments.

Have a fantastic St. George's Day!
