Yeah. I contemplated video games, but I'd rather do that at night. The dark enhances the graphics and suspense of the cinematic sequences. I am officially a video game geek.

Well, I myself am limited to an N64. I am SO gonna get a gamecube... someday... *cries*

BUT I do know some good video games for the N64, ancient as it now is.

"Gauntlet Legends" is a really good game. The camera angles can be annoying, but it's got great combat, lots of weapons, and a pretty good multiplayer mode. The last level is the hardest, because all the minor enemies that you ever beat all gang up on you. All of 'em. And you kick a lot of butt in the levels.

"Star Wars Episode 1: Battle for Naboo" is also pretty good. It can be more than challenging at some points, but there are plenty of great cheats, missions, and aircraft at your disposal. The graphics are very nice, too.

"Perfect Dark" is a good first-peron shooter. Graphics are stunning and the many, many missions are tough. Weapons, Easter Eggs, weapons, cheats, weapons... did I mention the weapons? Lots of "unnngh" and blood.

N64s are relatively cheap. The most expensive are usually $15 dollars. Games range from $1-$40, depending on what kind of game it is, if it's outdated, if it's a collectable, or if it's part of a franchise. For example, a "Zelda", "Mario" or "James Bond" game will be more costly. (Speaking of James Bond, I have always heard that Goldeneye007 is a great game for the n64.)

A sports game, however, will be VERY cheap. Sports games are released yearly and are, therefore, quickly outdated.
*sigh* I am such a geek. Long live geekyness!

I don't do sports games. If I want to play sports I go outside and play sports.

shoot-em-ups, otoh... ;)

I have no "game system" - I am a PC gamer.
been considering buying a game system... since 1992.

Bwahahaha. I got mine for Christmas when I was like...9? LOL. Well, "Delta Force 2" is a good PC game. It's a war/shoot-em-up game. Nice graphics... nice missions... very nice weapons. Overall a good game.

We also have "Army Men", a game where you play as those little plastic soldiers every boy grows up with. You're green, your enemies are tan, and you even get a tank and flamethrower.

Maybe you could get an N64. Old Playstations are just $50 at Wal-Mart. Or, you could spring for a used Gamecube/Xbox/PS2. They run about $75. Check and see if you have a Gamestop shop near you. They buy and sell everything related to video games.

I forgot to add -- just incase you didn't already know, PS2s play dvds and cds as well as games.(It might be able to play old Playstation games, but I'm not certain.) They have a VERY nice selection of games, and take up little space. However, they cost $200, and the games that go on that system are normally $50.

It's not addictive or anything. If you don't want to play, you can turn it off and let it collect dust for a while. It's a nice thing to have when you're bored or just want to kick back. Systems don't crash unless you spill a gallon or so of soda on 'em. There's no loading time, no jumpy screens.

Welcome, stands2reason!

BTW, great and mighty King Prout....I was wondering if I could please get a way-cool title like all the other members of the RKBA? It would greatly increase my enthusiasm for my paving duties.
