AMERICA- The Right Way!! (Day 739) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
All of Us | January 29, 2003A | Freepers and Various News Sources

Posted on 01/29/2003 2:30:52 AM PST by Molly Pitcher

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor our brave members of the Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Well, last night's speech was all we could have hoped for. And in a week, or two, the President will again address a joint session of Congress and the Nation.

This will be a one - two punch, and send the Dems and other critics reeling.

It's too bad it has to get so political on the eve of war, but the Corrupt Party started it with its overly aggressive attacks before the SOTU was even delivered!

So there it is: the Dems will be reeling. Excellent!

Here's more from James Lileks about Iraq:
Let's say I'm a 44-year old Iraqi man with a two-year old girl and a wife who worked in the Ministry of Justice and came home every day weeping because someone else had been taken away, I would hear this speech and be filled with piercing fear and incandescent hope and the two emotions would wrestle every day until it was over. When you think about it, a postwar Iraq might actually be safer from WMD than New York City. It’ll be over for them.

We’ve no idea when it’ll be over for us.

I am glad you have peace about this whole situation. I can't understand how people can listen, and watch GW and not know he genuinely cares for America. They were fooled for 8 years by Clinton and his buddies, but so quickly jump on GW. It just amazes me.

they are indeed building up WMD now.

You saw the evidence already.....remember the anthrax attack...... you think that came from a lone right wing scientist. That anthrax was so refined it could only have come from a very skilled lab.

Sorry to hear the speech didn't convince you....

BTW.....I posted an excerpt from the new Woodward book....it seems at the highest levels of our government they are convinced the anthrax came from AQ with the help from a rogue state. If you can get your hands on a copy you need to read that passage..

Good morning! What a wonderful speech, and I am so proud of the President!

I will be gone most of the day. My youngest sister is having major surgery, which although not life-threatening is still a big deal. I am going over to the hospital to wait with my other sister. I would appreciate prayers for my sister Lissa.

See you all later today.

You're so right, kassie. I often try to tell myself that politics shouldn't matter so much. But these things are like black and white to me and anyone who has that much criticism for our president's leadership must see the whole world through very different eyes than I do and working closely with people like that scares me.

Did you enjoy that picture of the anti-French rally in Ivory Coast in post #21? I had you in mind when I first saw it last night.

Now now, Mr. Mulliner, though I have just called into work sick I am not going back to sleep. As I've said before, you don't have 4 sons (3 in Scouts, a good indicator for future military service) whose brains may get blown away in any military action. I want the current sacrifice of sons and daughters to be based on facts that the threat is imminent.

Of course you could say I have a wife and daughter who are at risk from S's WMD now, so take him out. Fair enough, my Dad killed Japanese so I'm not speaking Japanese now. We nuked their cities (another crime we are blind too: could have nuked their navy to show them to awesome weapon and futility of resistance: but that is another issue)

Let's not forget that Iraq has one of the largest populations of Christians in the Middle East. They and their families will die with bombs our taxes paid for. Yeah, yeah, war does equal death, no big news flash their...which is why war must be seen as a last option. "liberating" any foreign country is NOT our job, unless they pose a distinct, imminent threat to our nation. Israel has nukes, let Saddam tangle with that....

So, as to my challenge, why doen'st the lack of evidence concern you? I won't presume to call you a warmonger, but I think if you read the speech there are good linguistic examples of doublespeak.

My dear, We are not going to be flying over folks houses saying 'think I will kill this family' or that one. Saydamn kills more just on weekends than the entire war will kill and besides, I just don't like the idea of this certified nut giving bombs to the AQ and they setting one off on 5th
Ave. Rather it is better for our bombs to go off on SayDamn Drive.

Since you are slow to respond, Mr. Mullinger, I have taken the liberty to respond for you with a quote from the Prez's speech lasrt night:

Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option.

I take it your not in favor of the "liberation" of those many Christians in Iraq? I know, I know, Iraq is basically a secular state and less repressive towards Christians than most other middle east countries. But why not do something that is really going to shake up the pot in the middle east so that their kind of tyranny becomes a relic of history?

imho your attitude towards fellow Christians -- some of whom will be blown up while on their knees having morning devotions -- is strange. They are the flesh and blodd of Jesus Christ.

You are in material breach of reason and fact to say that SDH kills more on weekends. Seveal hundred or hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's may die before we prevail. Maybe many many less. Maybe, if nukes start flying, more. SDH has NOT targeted the indigenous, and ancient, Christian population for destruction, like other Muslim nations have.

Your valid point is about the bomb, but it raises a double standard most Conservatives ignore. What makes NKor, South Africa, Pakistan, or India for that matter, any better than SDH when it comes to having nukes?? Surely if we justify war vs. Saddam for this reason, then we most not obfuscate and pretend that we should not launch a campaign to destroy Paki and NK and SAFrica (now that the commies are partly in control there) nuclear capability. Why do they get free entry into the nuclear club???? w/o threat of war?

well, i think i may go back to bed after all. I'll leave you happy with more doubleplusgood quotes from the Prez...What he says about freedom is historically and theologically wrong, but it does sound good. Freedom, both personal and national, can only come through fidelity to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is this so-called "puritan" "theocratic" truth that church leaders are shy to proclaim in an age of false and dangerous tolerance.

Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity.

We Americans have faith in ourselves — but not in ourselves alone.

We do not claim to know all the ways of Providence, yet we can trust in them, placing our confidence in the loving God behind all of life, and all of history.

When Iraq falls you will see other middle east countries fall as well, I think it is called FREEDOM. The thought of a person having the right to VOTE? All those 'unelected rulers' know this. Murder is murder, be it violate of quick, murder is murder. Those folks in Iraq surely do not like being murdered. We can save them.

Some are being shot in the back of the head by Saydamn, that is OK, HuH? Didn't God send in armies to root out the enemies, to KILL them? It was Evil he was killing, Saydam is evil.

I am sure you extra sleep will give you some better thoughts.
