space Here's More Evidence That Earth Got Hit by Something Huge 12,800 Years Ago

Along with locations in North and South America, Greenland, Western Europe, and the Middle East, we can now add southern Africa to the list of places where scientists have uncovered evidence of a calamitous event that happened 12,800 years ago.

This evidence of a 12,800-year-old platinum spike in Africa is the first to be found on the continent, and it’s yet further evidence in support of the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis.

According to this theory, either a comet or asteroid struck Earth during the Pleistocene, triggering an impact winter that saw temperatures plummet around the globe. The associated loss of plant life lead to the extinction of many large animal species, along with possible disruptions to human populations around the world.

Indeed, the time of the alleged impact coincides with the disappearance of many animal species around the planet. Africa was no exception, as the Young Dryas period (12,800 to 11,500 years ago) was when several species, including giant buffalos, zebras, and wildebeest, went extinct. At the same time, there’s evidence from this period that human populations might have also suffered. The Clovis people of North America, for example, were suddenly producing fewer stone tools during this period, and a similar drop in stone tool production has been documented among the Robberg culture of southern Africa.

It’s important to point out that the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis is a highly controversial idea, given the lack of evidence. Critics have said an “an age discrepancy” exists “between different sites where proposed impact markers have been found, and that much of the evidence, such as magnetic microspherules, nanodiamonds, shocked quartz, and other minerals, are ambiguous in nature and open to interpretation. It also doesn’t help that an associated impact crater hasn’t been linked to the supposed event.

Some interesting reading:

Earth in Upheaval

Worlds in Collision

When the Sky Fell (planet tilted)

In order to make Darwin's Evolution work, the scientists threw out the old theory of Catastrophism (Katy bar the door) and adopted Uniformitarianism (all is calm for four billion years).

Does David Wilcock think that what we have in the Bible is what E.T. wrote down after he phoned home?

The bible is already hard for people to accept. Lets not make it more difficult

3. What caused the end of the ice age? Too many cocktails with ice.

And because there was ice up there a mile thick, there would be little surface evidence.

Its a perfect theory! (Kidding on that last sentence.)

Well, I don;t know if I agree with the lack of evidence. I think Firestone and friends have listed some rather clear evidence. Sunken Civ: please list “The Book” if you have not already done so. Also regarding “the lack of a crater. For one thing there appears to be 2 or 3 craters forming the bottom of Lake Michigan. Linear craters is not surprising after seeing the recent series of strikes on Jupiter. And strikes separated by larger spaces or continents would not be surprising if hits were separated by minutes or hours. Also there might be some craters in the ocean or scraped away by glaciers. The 34mya hit of the Chesapeake Bay area and Popogai (sp?) in Russia probably left craters about 60 miles wide. On the other hand there is also a 9 mile crater off Atlantic City that appears to have occurred around the same time. A crater that has recently been found in the Iraq Marshes either 1 or 2 miles wide (I forget which) occurred aroung 4 thousand years ago and may have been responsible for a lot of social disturbance in the middle east—rise and fall of various civilizations, the First Intermediate Period in Egypt. I don’t think anyone yet has come out with a good book on the implications of such a large crater at that time period.

"...an associated impact crater hasn’t been linked to the supposed event."

May I nominate Hiawatha Crater in Greenland?

"The vast hole discovered beneath the ice of the the Hiawatha Glacier in northern Greenland is believed to be among the 25 largest impact craters on Earth, according to a study published in the journal Science Advances.

Initially discovered in 2015, an international team of researchers has been working on verifying the findings since then, with much more still to do.

Professor Kurt H Kjaer of the Centre for GeoGenetics at the Natural History Museum of Denmark said that the crater was not dated but "its condition strongly suggests that it formed after ice began to cover Greenland, so younger than 3 million years old and possibly as recently as 12,000 years ago — toward the end of the last Ice Age."

VERY large chunks of ice could have been blown down to the Carolinas as well as other places and caused the eliptically oriented water and land features called The Carolina Bays. See Firestones book for some of that.

The Younger Dryas cooling lasted at least 1,000 years.

What do you think caused the end of the ice age?

Thought it was Og and his buddies making to many campfires.

Part of the theory supporting this timeline of change comes from the age of Gobekli Tepe at 11,800 years ago. Will this change when they find one even older? Even more advanced?

In my opinion, the great pyramid and all of the other megalithic sites in Egypt, are even older than Gobekli Tepe. They've been mis-dated for a very, very long time.

If you look at the chart you can see that a significant drop starts around 74 thousand years ago. That is when Toba the volcano exploded and left a crater about 18 by 65 miles, The impact from that affected the temperture and atmosphere for thousands of years. Also may have significantly shrunk the human population and the gene pool.

I absolutely agree. There are some good videos about this and they make a very good argument. There is something very important being ignored on purpose.

David Wilcock and Brien Forrester both talk about evidence of possible solar/cosmic events based on findings in South America and other locations around the world.

Geologist Robert Schock, and author/researcher Graham Hancock, have also done fantastic work in this area. In my view, they're some of the only people on the planet who are breaking new ground in the area of archaeology.

Perhaps what was meant was giant forms of the buffalos, zebras, and wildebeest. Europe had the giant cattle, the Orauchs (sp?), that has gone extinct, the giant cave bear, dire wolves and deer all gone.

A recently discovered crater under the Hiawatha Ice Field in Greenland is a prime suspect in the ending of the Ice Age:
