Along with locations in North and South America, Greenland, Western Europe, and the Middle East, we can now add southern Africa to the list of places where scientists have uncovered evidence of a calamitous event that happened 12,800 years ago.
This evidence of a 12,800-year-old platinum spike in Africa is the first to be found on the continent, and its yet further evidence in support of the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis.
According to this theory, either a comet or asteroid struck Earth during the Pleistocene, triggering an impact winter that saw temperatures plummet around the globe. The associated loss of plant life lead to the extinction of many large animal species, along with possible disruptions to human populations around the world.
Indeed, the time of the alleged impact coincides with the disappearance of many animal species around the planet. Africa was no exception, as the Young Dryas period (12,800 to 11,500 years ago) was when several species, including giant buffalos, zebras, and wildebeest, went extinct. At the same time, theres evidence from this period that human populations might have also suffered. The Clovis people of North America, for example, were suddenly producing fewer stone tools during this period, and a similar drop in stone tool production has been documented among the Robberg culture of southern Africa.
Its important to point out that the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis is a highly controversial idea, given the lack of evidence. Critics have said an an age discrepancy exists between different sites where proposed impact markers have been found, and that much of the evidence, such as magnetic microspherules, nanodiamonds, shocked quartz, and other minerals, are ambiguous in nature and open to interpretation. It also doesnt help that an associated impact crater hasnt been linked to the supposed event.

There are two ideas that get tossed around. First, the comet/meteor hit (into the glacier area of North America...the eastern coastal region). The discussion here is that a rapid melt occurred, feeding into the Atlantic and triggering a massive change in currents and weather. Note also...water levels rose over a week or two, by 200 to 300 feet across the globe, to where they are today.
The second idea goes to the idea of some kind of sun eruption (plasma burst) and that the rapid heat had some kind of quick reaction on the North American glacier. Again, a melt-off and a rise in water levels.
Note, there is another odd story out there on the science charts today...talking about mammoth elephants that passed away on Wrangel Island (100 miles north of Siberia)....years and years after the American glacier period ended. Now, you go and look at Wrangel Island. It’s maybe 25 by 45 miles in size. How’d the mammoths get there? You’d have to think prior to the water level occurring, Wrangel was part of the northern Siberian coastal area (thus not an island). But this begs questions about how they survived there, and what they ate.
Every year more and more sites from this period are being discovered indicating a very high level of technology. I think many of the mega structures in Egypt, and South America are far older than people think, and especially in south america there are many locations that seem to have two levels of technology. One is the 100 ton stones cut with laser accuracy, and then a level on top of it constructed with far less technology much later. Every year more and more sites world wide are discovered that all seem to date around 12,000 years ago. Archaeologists do not like to talk about them because it challenges the civilization myths and some imply that other peoples inhabited the americas before the indians came and to speak of which is career ending to even whisper.
will ping later, thanks, meanwhile, some related vids, although I find that a little of this guy goes a long way:

What do you think caused the end of the ice age?
*************
It’s starting to look rather obvious that the climate was bought off with large payments of platinum.
LOL.
5.56mm
Duh, SUVs.
This?
What about the previous glacial/interglacial periods in a regular cycle? (see post #16)
If it is crustal displacement, then what caused it to happen on a very regular interval cycle like this? External forces? Internal forces?
bigger rock that breaks up

fragments (think Shoemaker-levy) hit multiple locations, start massive fires...everything dies over a certain size. “Proof” is in the diamonds found in the Greenland ice that dates to that period.

...
Zebras are extinct?
Yep... Absolutely. And the more advanced technology was built under the newer less advanced technology. How did they do that I wonder?
Part of the theory supporting this timeline of change comes from the age of Gobekli Tepe at 11,800 years ago. Will this change when they find one even older? Even more advanced?
Thats .......Soooooouuuuul Train.

Gobekli Tepe really fascinates me. The problem with a lot of these ancient civilizations is most of them are under 400 feet of ocean.
Since previous glacial/interglacial periods happened on a regular cycle, I am leaning towards the pulse quasar event on a regular interval theory.
Or our own sun’s micronova on a 12,000 year cycle.
My money is on pterodactyl farts.
12,800 dog years?
Or was it cat years?
What happens to the rotation of the earth...and the earth orbit...and plate tectonics....and volcanism...etc...after a big hit like that?
Many times in the past they were not as you know. Marine archaeology is a field that needs more investment for sure. The find off the coast of Cuba has me very curious, but they are squashing any exploration or possible findings from that one. But there are some strange things around Cuba that can even be seen using google earth.
I think that is very possible, and would explain a lot of things unexplained.
