Obama amputates our nuclear arms
By: Charles Krauthammer
...snippet...
Under President Obamas new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty, explained Gates, then the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. Its like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

Fars,
What do you make of all the explosions on Iranian mil bases?
It was an earthquake, it was thunder, it was a gas station blowing up, it was conventional ammunition blowing up while being moved, it was nuclear trigger testing gone wrong, it was an Israeli missile attack, it was a combined Israeli and Marxist-Islamist MEK (Mojaheddin-e Khalgh) sabotage etc., etc.
The gas station was the first response from the Mullahs, then ending up with moving explosives, which is what happened the last time there were explosions in that area.
Until I get some more details from inside Iran, I will go with the poorly or even untrained soldiers used to move things around, could include some nuclear trigger equipment, being moved to/from the mountain caves near there for safety, setting off a chain reaction of munitions being preapared for terrorist use in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On the reverse side of the coin is the fact that American, Israeli, British and possibly French special forces are known to be wandering around parts of Iran and could have come together with MEK informants and decided to create the event.
The MEK, feared and vilified by the Mullahs, are Joe Sixpack Iranians without any distinguishing brand on their forehead! Their unity is their philosophy, not any physical or regional identity.
If I had to guess at who might have also helped with a sabotage operation I would consider the warrior Kurdish activists, who have friendly ethnic Kurdish ingress and egress points at the Turkish and Iraqi borders
MEANWHILE
There are some of you on FR who might enjoy these Persian songs, an Afghan dancer etc., from the 1950’s and 60’s so here’s a link.

You over looked Saudi special forces
I was wondering about that. Thanks for your take on it FARS. About the music...there’s something very pleasing about the combination of woman/music/dancing. Mehrpouya, Farhad, Vigen and Karen (cool pics...good music), Azarbaijani Music and Dance...it’s all good. Thanks FARS.
Thanks for the ping!
Yes, I did. Unintentionally.
Partly because I still do not hold them on a par with those I mentioned, though this painting them one and all with the same brush is unfair to some who might be as good or better than the best of the rest. Certainly in the Arab speaking Khuzestan region. Noting that linguistically Arabic has very different and distinguishable accents and dialects.
A Saudi, Iraqi, Egyptian, North African or Khuzestani may often NOT be able to clearly understand each other’s Arabic and thus give away their country of origin. And being a stranger to where they are would need a cover story for being there.
Here is an edited/expanded copy

Did anyone else notice this brief incident on Fox News video of the Hawaiian meeting?
Can anyone obtain and provide a copy of it for us?
It shows Obama walking around the meeting table, coming up to people waiting to be seated and offering his hand to be shaken, then being ignored and having to walk on to someone else.
A Head of State waits for others to approach him and if need be sets up a reception line to maintain dignity. But the what does Obama know of international protocol and national pride?
It’s blood curdling to see America so dismissed and disrespected because of Obama.
Did you notice that he took over the DoDs Hale Koa (House of the Warrior) hotel so that the troops and veterans couldnt use it for R & R? Yeah, he loves the military alright!
SInce his inauguration his entire Administration and he himself represent us.
When someone in Australia opens their paper and reads an article about Obama, they think that we are like him, because he is the president.
We cannot get him out of office fast enough! We need a real leader on the world stage.
How about putting this experienced, brainy adult in the Oval Office? (video)
Does his personal life “baggage” outweigh his having previously done what needs to be done for America and done it SUCCESSFULLY? Repeat successsfully. And knows the ins and outs of how to get it done?
Would that not be cutting off your nose to spite your face?

Every day I feel I’m in a horrible nightmare. Not just 0bama, but everything he does, says, represents, and all his handlesr, backers, supporters, string pullers, financers, etc.
I don’t see any esay way out; thus my new tagline.
And it’s not just a matter of “getting rid of 0bastard”. It’s the entire leftist engine of destruction.
Choit to Choir here?/lol. . .yes; indeed; it would be cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face. Repubs should focus on only; what is needed; and who can deliver. IMHO; it is Newt, of course.
The man 'bows' and scrapes; exudes false 'airs'. . .he cannot get close to another leader without putting his hands on his shoulder; or arm or in some other way; so as to send a message as to who is 'really' the inferior and empty Leader; though he feigns a 'full suit.
It truly IS sickening.
More feedback from Iran explosion:
Apparently, the gathering together of the seven or so very senior Sepah/IRGC officers who were killed in the explosion was to participate in a weapons demonstration.
By whom and of what is still unclear.
And BOOM! While it could have been a simple accident, valid conspiracy thinking cannot get past this very convenient gathering in the midst of increasing conflict in the increasingly hostile factions of the Sepah/IRGC.
Killing someone (or a half dozen someones) for them is as easy as having a drink of water and when former IRGC Commander Mohssein Rezai’s son Ahmad was found dead/murdered in a Dubai hotel, the plot thickened.
The waters continue to roil to the extent that Supreme Leader Khamenei has just gone on record saying he is RECONSIDERING Iran’s nuclear program.
The heat of unexpected international resolve to remove Iran’s nuclear capability - with violence if need be - has scared him. Specially with Western munitions that can put a missile into a “second window from the right on the East side fifth floor” thus with incredible pin point accuracy into an office or bedroom.
And he expects an attack not only to hit the nuclear sites but also individual leaders of the regime.
I just hate work place accidents. Makes one's Worker's Comp premiums to go up.
Methinks there is more to this story, specifically regarding triggers. Then again, I could be wrong...

Thanks for more details I hadn’t read. I did read about the son, though - certainly makes the “it was an accident” theory look lame.
