Jay McKinnon, a self-described Department of Homeland Security-trained document specialist, has implicated himself in the production of fraudulent Hawaii birth certificate images similar to the one endorsed as genuine by the Barack Obama campaign, and appearing on the same blog entry where the supposedly authentic document appears.
The evidence of forgery and manipulation of images of official documents, triggered by Israel Insider's revelation of the collection of Hawaii birth certificate images on the Photobucket site and the detective work of independent investigative journalists and imaging professionals in the three weeks since the publication of the images, implicate the Daily Kos, an extreme left blog site, and the Obama campaign, in misleading the public with official-looking but manipulated document images of doubtful provenance.
The perceived unreliability of the image has provoked petitions and widespread demands for Obama to submit for objective inspection the paper versions of the "birth certificate" he claimed in his book Dreams from My Father was in his possession, as well as the paper version of the Certificate of Live Birth for which the image on the Daily Kos and the Obama "Fight the Smears" website was supposedly generated.
Without a valid birth certificate, Obama cannot prove he fulfills the "natural born citizen" requirement of the Constitution, throwing into doubt his eligibility to run for President.
McKinnon, who says he is 25-30 years old, operates a website called OpenDNA.com and uses the OpenDNA screen name on various web sites and blogs, including his comments and diary on The Daily Kos. In recent years he has divided his time between Long Beach, California and Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a Democratic political activist, frequent contributor to the left wing Daily Kos blog, and a fervent Barack Obama supporter.

Sure. Rub it in...

I’m still catching up in Australia, saw your request. Go to the reply I posted yesterday, their explanation (?) and the link for the HUGE enlargement of the CoLB is here:

I can see the crimp damage caused by the impressed seal. I can also see a very faint bleed through of a rubber stamp right above the bottom frame near the center.
What I’m having difficulty discerning is basket weave in some of the letters in his father’s name.
The overall resolution is good enough that I should see it, but I don’t. I suspect it’s an artifact of the imaging system/software, low contrast features near high contrast edges are often suppressed to improve perceived sharpness.
“What Im having difficulty discerning is basket weave in some of the letters in his fathers name.”
Is it possible the answer to your question is contained in this previous post? Images at link. See:

“The typeface on the Decosta image is much darker and thicker, and has less kerning (spacing between the letters), than the Obama image. Moreover, the color of the green paper comes through almost all of the letters regardless of magnification or image compression.
By comparison, you will not see the grey and white pixels found between the letters on the Obama image.
When you enlarge the letters in the Decosta image, they all tend to remain solid, especially letters like “I, L, B, E, H,” that continue to look the same no matter how large you make them. Conversely, when you enlarge the letters in the Obama image, they start to fall apart — that is, they start losing pixels. This is exactly what happens to bitmapped text created by a graphics program.”
Where in Australia do you live? My sister lived in Meldale so I understand about the time.
LOL

Until something better comes along, I'm sticking with the above analysis. Check it out. The CoLB on the fightthesmears website shows no evidence of a seal.
I'm no genius, but what follows here appears to me to be a very dubious attempt to prove there is evidence of a seal on the back of the document:
STRATA SPHERE LINK. IMAGES. CLICK.
...Doug Ross did a great job of showing the time stamp, the stamp of the state seal and the signature area impressions coming in from the back of the Kos and BHO Campaign images, further proving their authenticity - not proving a forgery:
Does that say COMING IN FROM THE BACK? Then WHY is the date stamp shown as it would be if he was looking at the BACK OF THE DOCUMENT?
That is a good point. Making typos did leave impressions.
I pointed that out to you in posting #3230. :-)
#3230: You wrote (in part) “If the state seal and signature were coming in from the back the date would have read in the reverse direction, like the other certificate that showed the front with his name, etc; on it.

We keep coming back to the same thing.
On the chance that you are not just trying to be funny...
This area of the birth certificate image has obviously been enlarged and reversed to make the detail easier to read. Note the backwards printed text at the bottom edge...
Note the backwards printed text at the bottom edge...
If that is as you say, and I cannot see it very clearly, then that simply proves what we are looking at is the REVERSE of the document, not a graphic of the FRONT showing that the 'seal' is 'bleeding through'
Date stamp as appears on the reverse of the document, bottom letters on document REVERSED.
QUESTION: Are there seals hidden from view on the “Certificate of Live Birth” images posted to (a) the Daily Kos. (b) BarackObama.com (aka “Fight the Smears”) and/or (c) the two images posted on OPENDNA’s PhotoBucket account?
ANSWER: YES to (a), but a big, fat NO to (b) and (c)
Thus proving it to be a forgery of an actual document!

The “Two Minute, MSPaint OBama Hawaiian Birth Certificate”
Posted by Polarik on Monday, July 07, 2008 11:30:10 PM
I’m truly sorry if I insulted you, Fred, that was certainly not my intent.
The person analyzing the birth certificate image has enhanced and reversed an area of that image in order to make it easier to read whatever detail is visible bleeding through the document.
I am afraid I must be completely misunderstanding whatever it is you are trying to say about that image.
Hee-hee...
That's the beauty of the media megaphone. It only takes one out-of-sync example to make the sweeping allegation. We've seen it many times before -- one odd ruling and the politician is "vindicated," or "exonerated," or "defended the Constitution."
So why not say that we can't verify anybody's identity because Obama's released COLB is different from all the rest? If govt form numbers don't change when documents are different, then we're all suspect!
-PJ
I guessed as much...my following comments should clear that misunderstanding up. The image in question, which I have referred to in past comments as a 'snip' with the date showing as reading from left to right, is being presented as proof that the 'seal' IS BLEEDING THOUGH FROM THE REVERSE, which clearly, it it not.
Furthermore, it's a 'snip' of what? The CoLB graphic from the fightthesmears website, or a 'snip' from KOS?
Yeah. Anybody with a brain was already suspect. (That means you too, liberal lurkers).
It's just now with a possible multiplicity of suspect valid documents anyone can be detained pending verification, no?
