I'm sure that would work. You might want to check with a laser wielding dermatologist.

I would probably suggest modifying a standard electric razor a la Remington to use LASERs instead of blades in a regular screen-type shaver. It would not depilate, but then it wouldn't slice your ear off, either.

One promising area for further LASER work is in dentistry. Because decay is something that has a markedly different reflection spectrum that normal tooth material, it is easy to Zap the decay right out of the cavity, rather than drilling.

Of course, standard fillings would need a hole to hold the filling material, whether it be amalgam or ceramic. I would prefer the newer adhesive based filling material for no-drill dentistry.

LASERs could also be used to do a better job of mapping the shapes of teeth, so that manufacturing of replacements, (caps or implants), could proceed more rapidly.

If Dentists would re-design their instruments along the lines of minimally-invasive surgical instruments, they and their patients could be more comfortable and better served.

Imagine going on an all-expenses paid cruise through the Carribean, with no responsibilities other than entertaining yourself.

That is what our trip in the flying castle, out to Mars and the outer moons, will be like.

Except that instead of five nights or two weeks, it would be from eighteen months to three or four years between embarkation and return.

In the movie "Groundhog Day" and on the Stargate episode when the Colonel and Tielk were stuck in a time loop, the endless repetition of essentially the same day created boredom at first, but then it was realised that this was an opportunity to expand the individual horizons by learning new skills.

I would hope that we would react the same way. We might wander over to the blacksmith's shop one day, to watch him make a new hinge for the Castle gate, and then the next day we might decide to dust off our own skills and make a ceramic ashtray, or soap dish, or we might start grinding that telescope lens.

Time is a wonderful gift.

And wonder is a timely present.
