Kay Yow accomplished most everything a women's basketball coach could dream. Over a 37-year career that included 34 seasons with North Carolina State, she compiled 737 victories, leading the Wolfpack to 20 NCAA tournament bids, 11 Sweet 16 appearances, and a Final Four in 1998. Outside the college ranks, she coached the 1988 U.S. Olympic team to a gold medal in Seoul, Korea. But with her passing at the age of 66 last month, after more than two decades fighting breast cancer, Yow pointed her friends and well-wishers to look beyond basketball. Emergency crews are standing by at the Ottawa International Airport this hour, preparing for an emergency landing. A 737 passenger jet with 42 passengers on board has reportedly told air traffic controllers that it may be suffering from brake problems, and is currently dumping fuel before attempting a landing.

OTTAWA (CP) - The international airport in the capital reopened Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious package emptied the main terminal for about four hours. Departing flights had been delayed and arriving aircraft were kept away from the airport building while a bomb squad inspected the package found in some checked baggage. The airport authority was not immediately available for comment on when the backlog in departing flights would be cleared.
