Xfinity internet users may want a refund and a new service provider after reports of an October security breach involving customer data were recently made public. This includes “names, contact information, last four digits of social security numbers, dates of birth and/or secret questions and answers” of some customers, according to Xfinity. Users are urged to monitor their credit reports and potential fraud or identity theft using the three major credit agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Some customers received an email about the “data security incident” at around 5 am on December 29. CBS News reports,

Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Xfinity is notifying its customers that a hacker data breach got access to the personal information of 36 million customers, nearly all of Xfinity's customers. The data included passwords, user names and security-question answers. An Xfinity notice to customers this week said that the hack was due to a vulnerability in Citrix software that was patched. Subsequently, Xfinity discovered that hackers had nonetheless gained access to customers' personal data. "After additional review of the affected systems and data, Xfinity concluded on December 6, 2023, that the customer information in scope included usernames and hashed passwords; for...

The Epoch Times techies are telling the newsroom that Xfinity is blocking customers from opening the news web site, as well as the backend editing functions. Any Instapundit readers encountering this problem? If you are, please call Xfinity and RAISE HOLY HELL! Update (from Steve): For what it’s worth, I’m on Xfinity and can’t get Epoch Times to load. But it loads just fine on cellular when I turn my phone’s wifi off.

Laura Loomer has never committed a crime. In 2018 Laura Loomer was banned from Twitter. She was then banned from Facebook and then she was banned from PayPal. CAIR not only worked with Twitter to get Laura Loomer banned they then cheered the news ON TWITTER! And now this– Comcast and its subsidiary Xfinity banned GOP candidate Laura Loomer from sending text messages and emails to supporters. This is Orwellian and should frighten ANY American!

NBC blue-check “journalists” celebrated all over Twitter Tuesday afternoon after engaging in blatant anti-trust behavior, conspiring with Google to de-platform conservative news sites The Federalist and ZeroHedge. It later turned out that they had not quite succeeded in the way they had hoped, as Google backed off to some extent – probably on their internal lawyers’ advice – but the clear anti-trust nature of NBC/Comcasts’ actions was not lost on at least one GOP Senator. The controversy started when NBCNews ran this story: NBC News ✔ @NBCNews ZeroHedge and The Federalist will no longer be able to generate revenue from...

E.T. is returning to Earth to reunite with his friend Elliot 37 years after the Steven Spielberg-directed film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, was released in 1982. Actor Henry Thomas reprises his role as Elliot alongside the alien character for Comcast’s new four-minute ad called “A Holiday Reunion.” And the film’s fans were delighted to have seen some of their favorite scenes reenacted with E.T. and Elliot’s kids. From John Williams’ signature score to Reese’s Pieces and a Drew Barrymore-esque scream, the footage shows a revamped version of the beloved movie, including a modern take on the iconic bike scene, during which...

Comcast, the parent company of MSNBC, saw its shares plunge this past week as the company said it expected a record drop-off of subscribers for its Xfinity cable and internet service. The selloff of shares began on Thursday when Matthew Strauss, a Comcast vice-president for Xfinity, told a Merrill Lynch media conference that the company was bracing for a dramatic loss of 100,000 to 150,000 subscribers in the third quarter of this year. Shares had closed Wednesday at over $41 a share, but Thursday’s announcement led to a 7 percent price decline -- the biggest drop in share price since...

What do you think about Xfinity? I currently have Rhinobee which is a microwave type internet service. I have been happy with this and have found it vastly superior to the Hughes and the Wild Blue satellite we had previously. With the satellite, we frequently went over the data limit. With Rhinobee, there was no data limit, no contract or term limits, but it is about $150 a month, internet only. The new place I am moving to has Xfinity already. Of course I'd have to get the service switched over to my name. It has a one year minimum...

Summary By creating a failure condition in the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band, the Comcast XFINITY Home Security System fails open, with the base station failing to recognize or alert on a communications failure with the component sensors. In addition, sensors take an inordinate amount of time to re-establish communications with the base station, even if their "closed" state is switched to "open" during the failure event. Product Description The Comcast XFINITY Home Security system is a remote-enabled home security system, consisting of a battery-powered base station and one or more battery-powered sensors, all using the open standard ZigBee wireless...

The company’s cable division has appointed a new executive in charge of the “customer experience.” After years of customer service complaints, Comcast said Friday it is appointing a new executive to fix the problem.

Not a new problem but I'm looking for a solution, other than the obvious one. Comcast puts a pop up ad for their soft ware on every web page I open, "XFinity Constant Guard". It covers about 75% of the page. There is no way to simply exit out of it, all I can do is grab it in the upper left corner and drag it out of sight to the far right side of the page. I went to Comcast in person yesterday and the woman there said, "I should go into my programs and remove it". The rub...

The Comcast cable guy and his truck are getting a new look. Comcast Corp. said yesterday that it would re-brand its TV, Internet, and telephone services as Xfinity on Feb. 12 to signal to customers that this isn't the same old company. Comcast will remain as the corporate name, but the company will emphasize Xfinity in advertisements and on 24,000 service trucks and thousands of employee uniforms. The new brand name will first appear in Comcast ads, around the time of the Winter Olympics, in Philadelphia and 10 other markets and will then appear in Comcast's cable-franchise areas in other...
