Protests in 140 cities across America in the wake of the death of George Floyd devolved into violent looting and riots that have destroyed black lives, black livelihoods, and black monuments. At least 26 Americans have died in the riots, most of them black. The first two weeks of these deadly riots were officially the most destructive riots in U.S. history when it comes to insurance claims. The looting, vandalism, and arson that took place between May 26 and June 8, 2020, will result in at least $1 billion to $2 billion in paid insurance claims, Axios reported on Wednesday....

Coronavirus is nothing to sneeze at. But so far, widespread panic may not be justified. You should know: Almost all of the reported coronavirus deaths in the U.S. happened in long-term care facilities in Washington State. And almost all of those occurred at the same facility. Most people who get coronavirus have mild or no symptoms. No young or middle-age people have died of coronavirus in the U.S. Most around the world diagnosed from January-March 1 have already recovered. Obviously, this is a fast-moving news target. For the latest information from the government, you can visit the Centers for Disease...

Special Edition04-15-19 ***After Action Report*** I just got back from the demonstration in Fresno, California. It wasn't a Free Republic event, but was sponsored by the local Tea Party and Free Republic was notified at the last minute, so Freeper attendence was small. I counted about 5-6 Freepers. I'd say the total attendance was 50-60 people total, maybe a bit more. There was a Tea Party board member with a sound system and microphone, a guy and his buddy from some web site that I forgot the name of and he was live-streaming the event somewhere on the internet....

On Thursday night, Arkansas executed Ledell Lee—the state’s first execution in 12 years. Lee is one of eight men whom Arkansas originally planned to kill over 11 days before one drug in the three-drug lethal injection cocktail expires. Four of these men have received stays of execution, but Lee’s final plea to the U.S. Supreme Court was rejected by a 5–4 vote. Justice Neil Gorsuch cast the deciding vote allowing Lee to die. It was his first vote cast as a justice of the court.

Writing your will and making an estate plan no longer just involves who gets your money and your physical possessions after you die. Now it will also include who gets your pictures, e-mails and other data stored on your smartphone, desktop computer or in a cloud. "You can specifically say I want folks to have access to my digital account or I don't," says Rep. Debra Hilstrom, DFL-Brooklyn Center. Hilstrom authored a bill to help Minnesotans preserve their "digital assets" after they die. The governor signed the legislation into law as part of a larger bill dealing with probate issues....

At an event today in Spokane, Washington, Bill Clinton called for putting "the awful legacy of the last 8 years behind us and the 7 years before that where we were practicing trickle down economics." "I literally from the time I met her 45 years ago until we talked yesterday, she is the best change maker I have ever known. She always finds a way to make something good happen, to make people feel empowered, to buy people into the process, to make democracy work the way the framers intended for it to work. Now if you don’t believe we...
