A sign on a restaurant door that reads âNo Guns Permittedâ isnât likely to turn many heads at most restaurants. But when the other, bigger sign heralding the name of the establishment reads âToby Keithâs I Love This Bar & Grill,â you can bet a few feathers are getting ruffled. And indeed thatâs one of the biggest reactions since the country music starâs restaurant opened last week in Woodbridge, Va., a Washington, D.C. suburb about a half hour south of the nationâs capital. The big sticking point is that gun-rights advocates note that Virginia law lets citizens enter restaurants and bars...

However, some in the quiet town are taking issue with Frank Kloss' plan to sell guns. "It's very frightening to think that this may happen in our community," said long-time resident Tina Brogadir. Brogadir would rather the Planning and Zoning Commission deny the use, even if it means a loss of tax revenue. "I don't care, not that way," she said. "No thank you!" Kloss, who is a retired Hamden police officer, along with co-owner Michael Majewski, asked...

A federal judge yesterday struck down a Woodbridge ordinance requiring protesters to obtain a permit from the police chief seven days before holding a demonstration with 20 or more people. In a 26-page written opinion, U.S. District Judge William Bassler found the Woodbridge ordinance unconstitutional "because it delegates broad licensing discretion to the chief of police," contrary to prior decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.
