If you were president of the United States, would you hire an alleged former spy for Fidel Castro to be ambassador to El Salvador, a country teetering on the brink of hard-core socialism? President Obama just did. On Dec. 9, Obama nominated Mari Del Carmen Aponte to be ambassador to El Salvador, despite the fact that in the late 1990s, the FBI discovered that she was working with Cuban intelligence officers. According to Insight Magazine, "When the FBI eventually questioned her about her involvement with Cuban intelligence, she reportedly refused to cooperate." Why would Aponte escape the Obama administration's scrutiny?...

Mary Rose Wilcox is a career politician from Phoenix' South side who runs a Democrat political machine that has been compared to Daley's in Chicago. She was running in the Democrat primary for a congressional seat in the deep blue "safe seventh" district of Arizona, one of the few Arizona districts that is safe for Democrat candidates. She had name recognition, organization, and money on her side. She decided to differentiate herself from her main opposition, Ruben Gallego, by being more willing to chip away at second amendment rights.

Mary Rose Wilcox and Ruben Gallego from the Republic There are only a couple of safe Democrat seats for Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives. One of them is in the 7th district, a seat that is now held by the retiring Ed Pastor. I had the unfortunate experience to be "represented" by Ed for a number of years until gerrymandering moved the borders of the district. In retrospect, Mr. Pastor was at least not an aggressively evil anti-rights activist, more of the "follow the party line" kind of guy. It was rumored that as long as Ed...

Joseph Wilcox, armed citizen who died attempting to stop a mass shooting Mass shooting situations trigger a tsunami of public emotion, so there are enormous incentives for politically correct reporters to "interpret" them in certain ways for political purposes. They are often complex events that take time and careful investigation to unravel. In the recent shooting in Las Vegas, two police officers and a concealed carry permit holder were killed by the two attackers, who also died. The last three deaths occurred in a Wal-Mart, which, I am told, has some of the most complete surveillance camera systems of...

SIERRA VISTA, Arizona — Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels doesn’t mince words. He’s angry that local law enforcement and the citizens who call the Southwest border home have been left out of the decision making process when it comes to security and immigration reform. Dannels has lived along the border since 1984. He remembers when the dangers from smugglers circumventing the rocky, mountainous terrain were few and far between. Now, he says, a different breed of narcotics traffickers has amassed weapons, technology and small armies of death; threatening not only the stability of Mexico but U.S. national security as well....

Robert Wilcox deserves the Pulitzer Prize in History for his excellent book "Japan's Secret War". The History Channel just had an excellent show called "Japan's Atomic Bomb". I encourage everyone to watch this show (It repeats in a couple of hours). Wilcox and the History Channel uncover new evidence showing just how far the Japanese really got with their Atomic Bomb. Everyone needs to understand that North Korea has it's own natural supply of uranium and that effects every American even today.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE — A local political forum this week at a restaurant for a pair of Republicans campaigning to unseat Assemblywoman Carol Liu (D-La Cañada Flintridge) in the November election left some with a bad taste in their mouths — not from the food, but the discourse. Local Republican Dave Wilcox, a contender for Liu's seat, said that "some blacks are very moral people, if you can believe that," according to Martin Truitt, president of the Pasadena Republican Club and a supporter of Lynn Gabriel, the other Republican contender for Liu's seat. Wilcox and his supporters vehemently denied he...
