The terrorist bomber was killed near Tal Afar when a roadside bomb he was emplacing detonated prematurely. Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment discovered the bomber's body and part of a shovel near a blast crater. This is the second such incident over the past three days, officials said. Texas Terror Plot Foiled? Jan 8, 2004 10:20 am US/Eastern DALLAS (CBS) In the East Texas hamlet of Noonday -- known for onions, not anarchy -- federal agents arrested a common-law couple last April. They were hiding a weapons cache, including, as CBS News Correspondent Bob McNamara reports, the makings of a sophisticated sodium cyanide bomb capable of killing thousands. William Krar, 62, with ties to white supremacist groups, pleaded guilty to possessing a chemical weapon and faces life in prison, while 54-year-old Judith Bruey could get five years. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess illegal weapons. "They certainly...

Here's some good news you may have missed in your daily wire reports.........   *******   Last week, enemies of freedom in Iraq stepped up attacks on Coalition forces in a failed attempt to undermine international and domestic support for the US-led war to liberate Iraq and fight terrorism.   While Americans welcomed the UN Security Council's approval of the new Iraq resolution, and the vote by Congress for $87 billion in supplemental defense funding last week, Americans also mourned the loss of ten brave US troops in Iraq.   Last week, more than 130,000 US troops honored their fallen comrades, as they always do, by working to complete their missions, and to deprive the enemy of a future in a newly free Iraq.   -----------   Fairpress:...
