Amazing things are happening in Latin America. We have Javier Milei in Argentina, Nayib Bukele in El Salvador, and now José Antonio Kast in Chile, who just beat Communist Party candidate Jeannette Jara with 58% of the vote. The dude is a devout conservative Christian and father of nine: Kast ran mainly on a platform of cracking down on crime and mass immigration, and celebrations in the streets began as his victory was announced. Thousands of Chileans flood the streets to celebrate the win of pro-Trump populist Jose Antonio Kast Rist.Chile has defeated communism today..pic.twitter.com/WsGL43NKWG— Daily Dose of Chaos (@DailyDosOfChaos)...

Most Americans want law and order. When a peaceful protest turns into a riot – storefronts smashed, fires lit, and police under attack – something has to be done. Fast. And while law enforcement has a toolbox of non-lethal methods, one old-school tool that’s mostly been shelved in the U.S. deserves a second look: water cannons. Now, I get it. Some folks hear “water cannon” and think of black-and-white photos from the 1960s, with peaceful civil rights protesters being blasted in Birmingham. That image stuck with America, and for good reason. But today’s reality is very different. We’re talking about...

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced late Saturday night that in addition to the National Guardsmen — who were being deployed to restore order in Los Angeles — he was placing active duty U.S. Marines at nearby Camp Pendleton on high alert. Hegseth’s announcement, made via a post on X, came just hours after it was reported that President Donald Trump was invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807 in order to deploy a number of National Guard troops as protesters clashed violently with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents across the Los Angeles area. “The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal...

Dozens of rampaging youths trashed a Wawa convenience store in northeast Philadelphia Saturday night — hurling food and drinks at one another as one belligerent young woman twerked on a counter, video of the chaos shows. The rowdy group of about 100 young people were captured on video — shot inside the chain location at 7001 Roosevelt Blvd. — as they ransacked the shop at about 8:20 p.m. and recorded the pandemonium on their phones. An employee filming the wild scene from behind a sandwich counter in the store can be heard scolding the vandals. “You’re all stupid,” he said...

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the world’s richest man, and he commissioned the world’s largest sailing yacht — so big that in order to get it out to sea, he’s offering to pay to take apart and reassemble a historic bridge that it needs to pass to get out of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It may result in the world’s biggest scrambled eggs, if a planned Facebook event to hurl rotten eggs at the $485 million vessel is as popular as its signup sheet suggests. Facebook user Pablo Strörmann, a Rotterdam resident, stirred up "Eieren gooien naar superjacht Jeff Bezos...

Canadian police have set a midnight deadline for truckers to clear the Ambassador Bridge on Friday night, after they decided to defy the original deadline of 7pm, and handed out flyers warning those refusing to retreat that they risked CA $100,000 fines ($78,000) and the permanent loss of their commercial driving license. The drivers are now setting themselves up for a showdown with police after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that 'everything is on the table' to end the Freedom Convoy demonstrations, after speaking directly with President Joe Biden. A Canadian court on Friday issued the injunction to end...

A fourth day of violence in Los Angeles prompted the mayor to impose a rare citywide curfew and call in the National Guard after demonstrators clashed repeatedly with officers, torched police vehicles and pillaged businesses in a popular shopping district. Mayor Eric Garcetti said Saturday he asked Gov. Gavin Newsom for 500 to 700 members of the Guard to assist the 10,000 Los Angeles Police Department officers. The Guard members were expected to arrive early Sunday.

Unconventional Protests With the cops cracking down on dissent, will the protests get out of hand? By MICHELLE GOLDBERG If you're a delegate attending the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden later this month, Jamie Moran knows where you're staying. He knows where you're eating and what Broadway musical you plan on seeing. For the past nine months, Moran has been living off savings earned as an office manager at a nonprofit and working full-time to disrupt the RNC. His small anarchist collective, RNCNotWelcome.org, runs a snitch line and an e-mail account where disgruntled employees of New York hotels,...
