He had been appointed to that seat on July 25, 2003 -- nearly THREE YEARS earlier. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest two things: 1. This man was selected to be a future U.S. Supreme Court justice 15 years ago, not three months ago. 2. He'll douse himself with gasoline and walk through hell before he withdraws his nomination.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Monday that the Senate will hold an up-or-down vote on Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination, amid a committee investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against the nominee. "I want to make it perfectly clear ... Judge Kavanaugh will be voted on here on the Senate floor. Up or down on the Senate floor. This fine nominee to the Supreme Court will receive a vote in the Senate in the near future," McConnell said from the Senate floor on Monday. He declined, after his floor speech, to say if Republicans would try to vote...

A week after calling former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin a "dumb t***" vulgar insult for women, comedian Bill Maher went all the way and called Palin the c-word, adding, "There's just no other word for her." Maher also recently called Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) "bimbos". The Dallas Voice (The Premier Media Source for LGBT Texas) reporting on Maher's appearance Sunday night at the Winspear Opera House Sunday night, cheered Maher using the crude sexist slur against the 2008 Republican party vice presidential nominee as an act of "fearlessness": It’s that fearlessness — he acknowledged that some people would...

This may be the first time that this particular permutation of “apology” has been offered for dropping a C-bomb on someone. A forthright apology would be one thing, a “sorry if you were offended” dismissal would be another, but he’s almost trying to mesh the two. E.g., yeah, she really is a c*** — but I hope she doesn’t take it personally. It’s as if Don Rickles ran through a set and ended with, “Seriously, though, I meant every word.” In fact, I always thought one of the reasons the left likes Maher is that he clearly does mean to...
