Robert Bigelow – who gave Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a whopping $20m and never even so much as received a phone call of thanks – has told the Financial Times that President Donald J. Trump “would probably be the strongest commander, with the most experience… that’s only one guy.”Bigelow had warned the DeSantis team as early as three months ago that he would be taking his support elsewhere if the campaign issues were not resolved. Now, it appears he is ready to pull the trigger on that pledge.“Who would you want as a commander? I’d want somebody that would be...

President Joe Biden warned Vladmir Putin to avoid using nuclear weapons as his forces are beaten back in Ukraine or face 'consequences.' In a preview for this Sunday's 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley asked the president what words he would have for his Russian counterpart if he is considering using chemical or tactical nuclear weapons in the Ukraine. Biden responded: 'Don't. Don't. Don't. You will change the face of war unlike anything since World War II.'

...New York Times left-wing columnist Thomas Friedman suggested this in his Tuesday column titled “Kamala Harris Deserves a More Important Job”: Harris is too smart and energetic to be just the vice president, a position with few official responsibilities. I’d love to see President-elect Joe Biden give her a more important job: his de facto secretary of rural development, in charge of closing the opportunity gap, the connectivity gap, the learning gap, the start-up gap — and the anger and alienation gap — between rural America and the rest of the country. Friedman went on to argue that Harris was...

Over the last 11 years, Russia has suffered two devaluations of the ruble and the most prolonged decline in the standard of living in this century, with the economy at the start of this year only 8.8 percent larger than that in 2008. That means that the Russian economy has grown on average 0.88 percent a year, just over a third of the world economy’s growth rate, roughly half of the growth of the American GDP and nine percent of the growth of the Chinese economy over this period, official statistics show. Not only is this period of stagnation now...

This topic comes up occassionally, but now is as good a time as any to bring it up again. I often wonder whether changing your handle on FR matters. I believe in the current environment that changing your handle is about as safe, sound, and secure as changing your password in certain instances. I also know how well changing a username corrupts the database both for boon and bane. - WOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR USER NAME? YES or NO

Newt Gingrich vowed on Friday to campaign for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination on his own terms, saying he would do “whatever it takes” to remain in the race despite the exodus a day earlier of nearly his entire senior staff. “There is a fundamental strategic difference between the traditional consulting community and the kind of campaign I want to run,” Mr. Gingrich said. “Now we’ll find out over the next year who’s right.” Even as some prominent Republicans, including Gov. Terry Branstad of Iowa, questioned his viability, Mr. Gingrich made plans to deliver a foreign policy speech in Los...

Here is video of Ann Coulter unveiling the name of her new book, “Demonic,” and talking about the 2012 Presidential Election. Coulter agreed with a point Sarah Palin recently made in a speech, that Barack Obama had virtually no record he had to run on in 2008. But in 2012, he will have to answer for the liberal record he has compiled during his first term in office.

Britain’s welfare system is ‘bust’ and faces its most radical overhaul for 60 years to undo Labour’s legacy of benefit dependency, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith has declared. The former Tory leader vowed to end the scandal that means welfare claimants are no better off – and sometimes poorer – if they come off the dole to take jobs paying up to £15,000 a year. He also signalled that benefit payments to the middle classes were likely to be pared back in favour of income tax cuts – and the state pension age might have to rise more...

Twist the ex's arm REBECCA ECKLER From Tuesday's Globe and Mail May 6, 2008 at 9:05 AM EDT On behalf of my four-year-old, who has a Yahoo account in her name, I recently sent an e-mail to her father, who lives in Alberta. I'd like to get her something nice. Can you help? Love you." It was a...

AUGUSTA - A majority of the Legislature's Taxation Committee wants to shelve overhaul of the state sales tax for this year, even though several studies indicate Maine is losing tens of millions of dollars in Internet sales because the state has not joined an interstate agreement on collection of sales taxes. "I think if we still didn't have the working waterfront, LD 2 [property tax relief] and the personal property tax [on business equipment] I think we would deal with it this year," Sen. Joe Perry, D-Bangor, said Friday. "We just have too much to do." Perry also said he...

The Authority intends of supplying Yasser a permanent "guard" of women and children from these familes to obstruct any tries by Israel to harm him.
