SOUTH BEND - Minus suspected fakes, then Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama likely fell short of the number of signatures needed to appear on the 2008 Indiana primary ballot, and it's possible his opponent, Hillary Clinton, did as well, according to information obtained by The Tribune as part of an investigation into suspected ballot petition fraud. Trent Deckard, Democratic co-director of the state Election Division, in an e-mail Thursday told The Tribune Obama's 2008 petition for primary ballot placement in the state contained just 534 certified signatures in the 2nd Congressional District. Clinton's petition contained 704 certified signatures, he said....

Let’s consult the literature — all 21 books by the self-proclaimed ideas man of politics. (Gingrich cites 23 books on his Web site. We are not counting the Contract With America or the coffee-table book “Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny.”) When his top campaign staff abandoned him not long ago, Newt Gingrich didn’t seem terribly surprised. “Philosophically, I am very different from normal politicians,” he said. “We have big ideas.” The “we,” as Gingrich uses it here, is akin to the royal we — it’s what might be called the professorial we, employed when the intellectual and the ideas he...

  • Mark Levin: Krauthammer, Rove, and Will don’t know who can win or not

The Right Scoop ^ | June 2, 2011 | Mark Levin, via The Right Scoop
Mark Levin says that he’s not sure of a significant issue where Sarah Palin is wrong. He says she’s a strong conservative that doesn’t deserve the attacks she is getting from Krauthammer, Rove, or George Will. Moreover he also finds Bachmann and Cain to be very good conservative candidates, undeserving of the negative attention they are getting from establishment folks. In light of their recent attacks, Levin hits Krauthammer and Will for missing the Reagan revolution by supporting the opposing candidates. They didn’t believe Reagan could win and yet he won by landslides. Great monologue. Enjoy!
