The University of California at San Francisco recently issued a public apology for conducting dermatology experiments on 2,600 incarcerated men. The experiments were conducted at the Vacaville facility in the 1960s and 1970s without obtaining the consent of inmates.Dr Howard Maibach and Dr William Epstein, the faculty members at the institute’s dermatology department, conducted experiments on prisoners until 1977.
