Are you having difficulty finding Unfit for Command locally, for reasons other than the publisher didn't print enough copies? The thread linked above has numerous examples of book store employees standing in the consumer's way when they try to find this book. Perhaps if FReepers list their experiences in one place we can see where the bottlenecks are (they seem to be scattered) and take action as appropriate to help the liberals now suppressing sales to see the error of their ways. mystery1 wrote on the above-linked thread: I live in San Diego and just called 2 Borders stores. I...

I ordered 3 copies of Unfit for Command from Amazon last week. I am still waiting for them to be shipped. Tonight, on our way home we were listening to Mark Levin talking to people give anecdotes from people trying to buy the book and the troubles that people were having with that. We decided to stop by Barnes and Noble since it was on our way home. Here is what followed: I walked in and Bill's book is front and center as you walk in the door. I walked around looking for the book. Well, you guessed it, nowhere...

In a series of world exclusives begging in late July, this space outlined and detailed the coming book UNFIT FOR COMMAND -- a book which now sits at the top of the charts -- and the top of Friday's NY TIMES. TIMES editor Bill Keller has reserved...

This evening at approximately 6:15 CDT time here in Nashville I went to the Davis Kidd Booksellers at 4007 Hillsboro Road in the Green Hills section of Nashville. My wife had been by two days ago and reserved 2 copies for us of UNFIT and was told that the store would have them yesterday. I had planned to stop then but was too busy. When I went to the front desk I was told to go to the back counter where they hold reserve books. I went up to the bespectacled young lady and asked "Where are ya'll hiding Unfit...

Is Unfit for Command in bookstores yet? Amazon.com is now showing "this book usually ships in 5-to-7 weeks". I ordered my copy August 10 and it still has not shipped as of August 19. Barnes & Noble is showing "this book usually ships in 1-to-2 weeks". Is the book such a big seller that Amazon cannot get enough copies?

The Kerry campaign calls on a conservative publisher to withdraw a book after the Washington Post torpedoes the veracity of a Swift boat veteran. The Kerry campaign has told Salon that the publisher of "Unfit for Command," the book that is at the center of the attack on Kerry's military record by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, is retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores. "No publisher should want to be selling a book with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign...

This is a movie review, a reminder of one of the most reprehensible people in American history, and a well-deserved pranging of James Carville and Lanny Davis. Both of them appeared last week on every TV program in the known universe to decry the criticisms of John Kerry by 254 Swift Boat veterans because “they were not on the same boat.” This is a bald-faced, brass-plated lie in a number of ways. But before we count those up, a review of M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movie, The Village, is in order Yes, this will connect up. And so will a...

A number of the combat commanders, fellow officers and other men who served with Sen. John Kerry in Vietnam challenge his accounts of combat heroism in a new book, "Unfit for Command" (Regnery Publishing), by John E. O'Neill, who took over command of Swift Boat PCF 94 from Lt. Kerry, and Jerome R. Corsi, who has written extensively about the Vietnam War protest movement. Each of these excerpts from "Unfit for Command" includes comparisons of Mr. Kerry's earlier published accounts to recollections of others who served with him.

It may seem outlandish to launch a campaign broadside by television ad and book flackery devoted to discrediting the respectable Vietnam War record of Senator John Kerry, who has five combat medals. But that is exactly what a Republican-financed group of partisans is doing in presenting itself as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and tattooing the Democratic presidential nominee with accusations of lying about his service and war wounds. Never in Mr. Kerry's command, but claiming to have served near enough, its members are trying to contradict the firsthand accounts of his crewmates who are vouching for his war record....

Last week, Crushkerry.com broke a major story about the Democrat National Committee’s distribution of so-called “Brown Books,” unofficial hatchet-job biographies about the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. According to a source at the DNC, the “Brown Books” contain damaging military records, medical and psychiatric records, credit records, divorce records and more. You know … all the things we’re entitled to know about John Kerry, but he won’t tell us. In our story we predicted a campaign of character assassination would commence at around the same time the book Unfit for Command would be released in an orchestrated attempt to discredit...

Reviewer: Kalyan Sannedhi "KAL" (Birmingham, AL) - See all my reviews These are bunch of exaggerated and false accusations against John Kerry. For example, he attended a meeting in Washington DC where plans were made to assassinate prominent US senators...this is true...but what happened in the meeting? Every news article written about the meeting says that he was the one to stop the ferocious veterans against doing such things. Rest of the stories in this book are just like this, accusing John Kerry for things done by others, slandering John Kerry for merely being in a meeting...

Club for Growth Launches National Ad Campaign at Democratic National Convention in BostonWashington, D.C.— The Club for Growth, one of the nation’s leading free-market political advocacy organizations, today unveiled a new $1 million television ad campaign at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. The ad shows a spinning weather vane to represent Kerry’s many flip-flops on issues from the death penalty for terrorists to welfare reform to tax cuts. “John Kerry has never taken a position without checking the weather vane,” said Club for Growth president Stephen Moore. “He checks which way the wind is blowing and rides the breeze....

Suppose in the 1992 presidential election, after an unconfirmed rumor surfaced about an alleged affair then President Bush had years earlier, Clinton supporters decided to make marital fidelity a central issue. That would be almost as crazy as the current effort by some Bush backers to focus attention on John Kerry's Vietnam War record and subsequent protests. This is being significantly funded and directed by Texas fat cats and political operatives who have more than a passing relationship with Bush political guru Karl Rove. These are some of the same people who surreptitiously smeared John McCain in the last election....

Ya, That's what DRUDGE is saying.

n the last few days, there's been a new accusation floating around the Internet about John Kerry's Vietnam record. It involves speculation that David Alston, one of the "band of brothers" who served on board Kerry's Swift Boat, did not actually serve with Kerry at all. If such a story were true, it would be sensational news, given that Alston has made extensive public statements, including a speech at the Democratic National Convention, about his time with Kerry. The only problem is, it's not true. Alston did indeed serve under Kerry. But the attention the rumor brought to Alston and...

The Swifties have earned the right to be heard. Any columnist who complains that this is a smear campaign or denies the Vets, their First Amendment Right should be called on it. How ironic that the Press tries to say who has the Constitutional Right to speak?? That is the beauty of this country, everybody has the right to be heard and let the chips fall where they may. Unfortunately the First Amendment has been undermined by the now crumbling Mainstream Monopoly. Anyone who has fought and bled for America’s Freedom has a special right to speak and be heard....
