One cannot underestimate the impact of what has just transpired in James and Elizabeth Sanders' ongoing civil suit against the federal government and seven named individuals. The case number is federal EDNY, #01-CV-5447 JS. The United States government has declined to respond to the Sanders' summary judgment motion – "Rule 56.1 Statement." Incredibly, by so declining, U.S. Attorney Kevin Cleary has conceded that the Sanders' 32 damning charges against his clients cannot be rebutted. In so conceding, the Justice Department tacitly acknowledges that, yes, the TWA Flight 800 investigation has been corrupted and, no, we are not prepared to contest...

As I last reported, virtually everyone in the major media has treated Team "First Strike" respectfully in our attempt to arouse interest about the fate of TWA Flight 800. The one exception was Newsweek's Mark Hosenball. Indeed, Hosenball treated us with all the tact and diplomacy his fellow countryman, "Simon," reserves for off-key warblers on "American Idol." Hosenball's defensiveness, however, may have less to do with some idiosyncrasy of British behavior than with the fact that he has much to be defensive about. It was Hosenball, after all, who penned the media's most stirring defense of the CIA's now notorious...

© 2003 WorldNetDaily.com Scooped by the Washington Post on the second biggest political scandal of our time, Watergate, the New York Times had a chance to even the score. The paper had an all but proprietary lock on the most consequential political cover-up in recent American history, the case of TWA Flight 800. But the Times, alas, blew it, undone less by its ideological affinity for President Clinton than by old-fashioned journalistic hubris. On July 17, 1996, TWA Flight 800 exploded only 12 minutes out of JFK along the south shore of Long Island, New York Times territory to be...

If there is any one serious person in America whose prior knowledge might have affected events of Sept. 11, that person is presidential aspirant, Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. On Sept. 11, 2001, as we have reported earlier, Sen. Kerry appeared on the Larry King Show. Kerry's honest admission to King bears scrutiny: We have always known this could happen. We've warned about it. We've talked about it. I regret to say, as I served on the Intelligence Committee up until last year, I can remember after the bombings of the embassies, after TWA 800, we went through this flurry...

Agonizing Decision Awaits if Root Cause of Disaster Remains Elusive Hard as they try and long as they take, NASA engineers may never isolate the exact, root cause of the Columbia's fatal disintegration. If it comes to that, the implications for the future of the space shuttles and the International Space Station could be profound, astronautical engineers and policy analysts say. Will shuttle flights have to be shut down while modifications are made on all suspect systems? Or will NASA make some changes, and accept other risks, to send the shuttles back into orbit sooner? In either case, the decision...

Right now, Team First Strike – James Sanders and I and our excellent publishers and publicists – are engaged in a battle that will shape the recording of contemporary history. That battle is to convince the major media that the case of TWA Flight 800 desperately needs to be reopened. As of this date, we have made high-level contacts with the New York Times, the Washington Post and Newsweek, among others. We have also made contacts with the various TV networks, but it will take a push from the print media to get television interested in a serious way. The...

<p>In this exclusive interview, author Jack Cashill explains why he doesn't buy the government's explanation of the tragedy and presents some of the compelling evidence detailed in "First Stike."</p>
<p>Question: From the title of your book, can we assume that terrorists destroyed TWA 800?</p>
<p>Answer: Ultimately, yes. On the night of July 17, the military was on the highest state of alert since the Cuban missile crisis. They were looking for something.</p>
<p>Q: Terrorist missiles?</p>
<p>A: No, although terrorist missiles were capable of hitting the plane, they were not capable of creating so massive an explosion.</p>

The FBI, under political pressure from the Clinton administration, purposely covered up evidence of a terrorist missile strike against TWA Flight 800 in 1996, charges a book to be released in early March. "First Strike," by investigative reporters Jack Cashill and James Sanders, shows the overwhelming evidence ignored, obscured, buried and destroyed by FBI agents placed in charge of investigating the air disaster July 17, 1996, off the coast of Long Island. Some 230 people died in the explosion – making the incident the biggest, deadliest terrorist strike on American soil prior to Sept. 11, the authors say. Cashill and...

2) Incomplete and inadequate accounting for the presence of explosive traces found in diverse parts of the aircraft. FACT: Investigators detected traces of explosives (PETN and RDX) on various wreckage items.[12] Officials attributed these traces to a canine bomb detection exercise allegedly conducted in the jetliner in St. Louis five weeks before the crash.[13] According to investigators, explosive particles were inadvertently deposited on the aircraft during this exercise. FACT: On the day of the of the alleged bomb detection exercise, the aircraft that would become Flight 800 left its St. Louis gate, fully catered, with 435 passengers and bound for...

WND BOOKS Terrorists' 1st air strike against U.S. Groundbreaking evidence points to TWA Flight 800, not Sept. 11 Posted: January 20, 2003 1:00 a.m. Eastern By Joel Miller © 2003 WorldNetDaily.com The first air-terror strike against the United States did not take place on Sept. 11, 2001, according to a groundbreaking new release from WND Books. "First Strike," by investigative reporters Jack Cashill and James Sanders, argues that the first air-terror strike took place on July 17, 1996, when 230 died with the tragic downing of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of Long Island. Cashill and Sanders have uncovered...

After several years of looking into the TWA Flight 800 disaster, several things seem certain to this author/investigator. The material in this article comes from a year-end statement posted by myself on another forum. 1. I regard the CWT scenario (as proposed by NTSB) to be insufficient to support their theory as outlined. I will not debate whether or not the CWT "exploded." I believe there is overwhelming evidence that it did. NTSB's inability to pinpoint an ignition source is a major failure, which undermines the investigation's conclusions. 2. Many aspects of the investigation warrant a thorough review, including but...

<p>WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A senior FBI lawyer who refused to seek a special warrant for a search of Zacarias Moussaoui's belongings before the Sept. 11 attacks is among nine recipients of bureau awards for "exceptional performance."</p>
<p>The award to Marion (Spike) Bowman, head of the FBI's National Security Law Unit, is sure to be controversial among Minneapolis agents who sought authorization for a search, former bureau officials said. A search after the suicide hijackings, which killed more than 3,000 people, produced clues that might have helped uncover the plot.</p>

EGG HARBOR, N.J. -- The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that it has developed a simple technology that prevents jet fuel tanks from exploding. For years, the agency has called the idea too expensive and complex. A fuel-tank explosion was blamed for the crash of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. Since then, the aviation industry has taken dozens of steps to reduce the risks. FAA rules released last year could require even more expensive redesigns of some jet models. But the device demonstrated at an FAA technical facility here could provide greater safety at a lower cost, officials said. It...

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration is requiring about 3,500 Boeing jets to fly with extra fuel to prevent fuel pumps from overheating and possibly causing an explosion. The FAA has sent airlines three safety warnings about the problem since August. The latest was issued last weekend after pumps in three planes overheated, the FAA said Tuesday. The warning is intended as a precaution while the FAA figures out what's causing the problem with the pumps, made by Hydro-Aire Inc. of Burbank, Calif. James McKenna, managing editor of Aviation Maintenance magazine, said the FAA doesn't ordinarily need to make...

The jury is in on TWA Flight 800, and the verdict is clear: There is absolutely no evidence of either a mechanical failure, or of a bomb planted in the fuselage. Indeed, all available evidence suggests the explosive event that destroyed the ill-fated airliner in 1996 was caused by a terrorist group called the Islamic Change Movement. This is the "group" that had taken responsibility for the Riyadh bombing in 1995 that killed five Americans and two Indian nationals, and the Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia on June 25, 1996, that killed 19 American servicemen. Early on July 17,...

Dayton researchers make key finding in FAA study Certain airplane fuel residues can conduct electricity and cause passenger jet fuel tanks to explode, researchers said Thursday. The finding might help prevent deadly explosions like the one that destroyed TWA Flight 800 in 1996. The finding was part of a three-year, $800,000 study commissioned by the Federal Aviation Administration and carried out in part by researchers at the University of Dayton Research Institute. TWA 800 exploded over the Atlantic Ocean off the New York coast on July 17, 1996. All 230 people died in the accident. Government investigators determined the accident...
