Tony Auth, 72, of Wynnewood, the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and mainstay of The Inquirer's editorial page for four decades before resigning in 2012 to become a digital artist, has died. Mr. Auth had been under treatment for metastatic brain cancer. David Leopold, his friend and curator, said he died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, Sept. 14, four days after his supporters announced a fundraising effort for an archive devoted to his work at Temple University. Mr. Auth's remarkable career began in 1971 when the fledgling artist from California flew in to Philadelphia to interview for...

Leave it to Jew Hater Extraordinaire, Tony Auth to determine that not STARVING a woman to death because she's inconvenient, is actually holding up The Lord's plans. Too bad Terri Schiavo isn't Jewish, then he could change the scene setting to Hell.

NEW YORK -- A number of readers and Jewish organizations are complaining to The Philadelphia Inquirer that a Tony Auth cartoon may be anti-Semitic. Auth said this isn't true. "If you look at the body of my work, you can't cling to the belief that I'm an anti-Semite," he told E&P Online, noting, for instance, that he has frequently done cartoons critical of Israel's opponents. His July 31 cartoon showed a Jewish-star-shaped fence penning in Palestinian men, women, and children. It was referring, of course, to the real-life fence Israel is building for what the country says is security...

A few days ago, an editorial cartoon appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer that made lovers of truth blink and gasp. The cartoon, by Tony Auth, showed Palestinian Arabs fenced in by a giant Star of David. The outcry (essentially, no terrorism, no fence) came by way of numerous letters to the editor, but an eye-popping response appeared in David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com. In an article titled "Nazi Imagery Goes Mainstream", authors Ricki Hollander and Cynthia Lttleman prove that there is indeed nothing new under the yellow sun of journalism. One frame in this article shows Auth's 2003 rendition of Arabs trapped...
