Should find out today if the California Secretary of State is going to place my name on the presidential primary ballot of the American Independent Party which will be conducted on June 7th. We'll also find out if they also placed Donald Trump's name there as well. He'll likely be on the Republican ballot line in their closed primary, but the AIP offered his name up as well for their non-binding open primary, in which Independents will be able to vote. California law allows candidates to appear on multiple party ballot lines. Once again, though, the actual nominee of the...

The first stated purpose of the U.S. Constitution is "to form a more perfect Union." Allowing immigrants into this country when their religion/political ideology is completely hostile to, and incompatible with, the principles upon which American republican self-government is premised makes that first stated purpose totally impossible of fulfillment. As has been stated, correctly, so many times, the Constitution is not a suicide pact.

With the January 2016 Iowa presidential caucuses on the horizon, Hillary Clinton is the far-and-away favorite among self-described Democratic caucus-goers, according to a Suffolk University statewide Iowa poll. And while some Republicans have begun visiting the Hawkeye State, the survey shows no favorites among prospective GOP presidential candidates. Meanwhile, the Suffolk University poll of likely general-election Iowa voters shows Republican Gov. Terry Branstad with a strong advantage heading into the June 3 Republican gubernatorial primary, and he leads the sole Democrat in the race, State Sen. Jack Hatch, by 10 points in a general-election match-up. Branstad, the longest serving governor...

For Immediate Release Contact: tomhoefling@gmail.com January 9, 2014 As part of a campaign to get the Republican Party back to basics, candidate for Iowa Governor Tom Hoefling and District 10 State Representative Tom Shaw today released the text of their “2014 GOP Unity Platform” in advance of the January 21st Iowa Caucus. “Ronald Reagan said that political parties cannot be all things to all people. He was right. They can’t be, and they shouldn’t try to be. That’s why this platform contains the key principles and clear purposes that represent the core of true American republicanism. However, with this document,...
  • The American Independent Party of California nominates Tom Hoefling for President

The American Independent Party of California, in convention, nominated me today for the office of President of the United States. This gives us the 2012 presidential ballot line. My thanks to all who participated in the process, and to presidential candidates Wiley Drake and Virgil Goode, both of whom were present and who graciously released their delegates in order to make the final vote a unanimous one.

"All officers of government in this country, in every branch, at every level, have as the first obligation of their sacred oath the protection of all innocent lives within their jurisdiction. Should I be elected to the office of President of the United States, I will keep my oath. Justice Blackmun, in Roe vs. Wade, admitted that “of course” the child in the womb is protected by the Fourteenth Amendment, if they are a person. Since it is self-evident that they are a person, my first act as President, after having sworn the oath, will be to publish a presidential...

J.D. Ellis, Vice Presidential Nominee,America's Party Conservative voters don't vote for liberal politicians. Both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are liberal politicians. As Mr. Hoefling has said many times, Republicans may be conservatives, or they may support Mitt Romney--but they may not do both. Principled patriotic American voters don't vote for candidates who are opposed to America's foundational principles. Both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney hold a number of positions that are directly opposed to America's foundational principles. Republicans may be principled patriotic Americans, or they may support Mitt Romney--they may not do both. Pro-life voters don't vote for pro-abortion...
